This past Monday 1/20/25, a friend and I decided to attend Mellow Mondays at Taste. I was wearing a jumpsuit that zips in the back, and about 15 minutes before the venue was set to close, I went to the restroom. While my friend was helping me zip up my jumpsuit, a man claiming to be the “owner” entered the women’s restroom along with another woman. He proceeded to tell us that we needed to leave the premises immediately, using inappropriate language and showing a complete lack of professionalism.
Not only was I in a vulnerable state, partially exposed while zipping up my jumpsuit, but the fact that this individual—a male—entered the women’s restroom unannounced raises serious questions about privacy and boundaries, particularly for a business owner. Additionally, he remained in the restroom with a visibly intoxicated woman, which is highly inappropriate and could easily result in a situation where liability concerns or allegations of misconduct arise. This behavior is not only unprofessional but potentially places patrons and the business itself at legal risk.
As business owners, it is imperative to maintain professionalism and ensure the safety and comfort of all patrons. Entering a women’s restroom unannounced and ordering individuals to leave while being inappropriately accompanied by an intoxicated person raises serious ethical and legal concerns. This type of conduct could be construed as creating an unsafe environment for women and leaves the business open to allegations of misconduct, harassment, or negligence.
To all women, I encourage you to remain vigilant in such situations. Always prioritize your safety, and avoid going to restrooms alone, especially in environments where alcohol is involved. Unfortunately, opportunists can take advantage of vulnerable situations, and it is crucial to look out for one another.
Lastly, security was instructed to remove me from the premises after I voiced my concerns about leaving the intoxicated woman alone in the restroom with this individual. This further highlights the lack of professionalism and accountability displayed by the establishment.
This incident was a stark reminder of the importance of holding business owners and staff accountable for their actions, especially when safety and privacy are compromised.
My goal when I graduate with my degree in April is to get into a position where I can investigate business for fair practices and have them shut down or reformed. I get tired of the lack of professionalism within...

The music was good and the building was clean, making for a comfortable environment. I also appreciated the presence of security, which made me feel safe throughout the night.
Although I didn't try the food myself, my friend ordered chicken and it looked decent. The staff, including the bottle girls and security, were welcoming and attentive, which added to the overall positive experience.
I would definitely consider returning to taste in the future for another night out. It's a great spot for drinks, music, and a good time...
