Skyland Pub — Restaurant in Troutdale

My wife and went our to the pub at 5:00 PM Dec 9, 2021 and had one tap beer and a meal. Wife had a prime rib sandwich and I had the chicken fried steak special. We had not been to the pub for about two years since before Covid hit. I had been shocked to see the reduced selection on the menu which may have been at best 1/3 as many items as before. The price for the two meals and one drink was $38 plus which I thought was incredible high for the quality of the food. My wife thought her sandwich was fine but the french dip juice and french fries were very poor tasting and the fries were coated with something and over fried and did not taste good. She asked for a pale ale beer and was given an unfiltered ale which was very high in bitters that would make your face pucker with bitterness. My meal consisted of a potato soup which was good, mashed potatoes and gravy, (broccoli, onion and bacon vegetable) serving and chicken fried steak covered in a white gravy. The gravy was tasteless, the chicken fried steak was way overcooked and hard and I don't think they could have found a lesser quality meat and the vegetables serving was not good either. They did not indicate they were going to put bacon into the vegetables which I don't really care for bacon put into everything. It will be a long time before I go back there and eat again. It is a neighborhood bar that we most likely will try it at some point in the future to see if they have a new cook or better...

I have been coming here for the past six months, on the word of close friends, and until quite recently, I have had an extremely friendly and welcoming time! I have met the owners on several occasions, and have been flattered as well as impressed every time until tonight! ; ( Unfortunately, tonight I was charged for twelve drinks when I purchased only three, and then insulted and told to leave once I objected to such highway robbery, at the hands, by the way, of two very young bartenders whom I had never met in my years of coming to Skyland. They had no qualms in telling me that they would call police to have me arrested as soon as I simply disputed the insane charges they sought to assess me after only 45 minutes at their bar; FIFTY-EIGHT DOLLARS!!!! Monday, April 23, 201l9, I was shown that this pub only cares for its patrons, when it's owners are NOT there to regulate behavior. Otherwise, the college freshman bartenders, will charge you tenfold, and call the police if you contest their BLATANT extortion. AN ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE! Do...

Called ahead of time to ask if they have pac 12 network, then walked 2 miles(wanted a little exercise to burn off drinks we were planning to have). Got there and asked to have one of their 19 screens turned to the game we went there to watch. They couldn't figure it out between 4 different employees and 4 different remotes. We stayed because we walked all the way there, but it was really disappointing. Then we ordered another round of drinks and 2 different waitresses came to our table and never picked up our old very empty glasses. Had to ask for napkins because there we no coasters and table was quite wet. So after being there over an hour, never getting the game we went there specifically to watch, we left with multiple wet napkins and 4 empty glasses on our table.
