The food here is actually pretty good. Not the best, but not bad. However, they have messed up two out of my last three orders which, of course I didn’t discover until I got home because they had not at the bag so tightly I would’ve had to rip it open to check. When I called to tell them about it, they told me I could drive all the way back out there and they would correct it, but when you’re ordering to go so you can pick it up on your way home from work and have dinner with the family, that’s not really an option. I requested some type of future credit for my next visit, and the counter person was rather rude and refused. The person at the counter (usually one of 2 diff girls) is always a downer, no personality not friendly, not accommodating. They keep jacking their prices up, the Gyoza have gone up 14% since my last visit two weeks ago. And not only have they have gotten ridiculously stingy with their sauce on to go orders, they only give you the super watered down version that’s runny like water, not the proper thick sauce. The sides of sauce are typically half full and so watery that you legitimately need multiple if you’d like anything other than barely sauced chicken, and forget about having anything to add if you want to mix the rice in. I ordered a side of 20+ Gyoza and they only put two tiny half full dipping sauces in. They’re actually charging $.25 for those tiny half full sides of sauce of any kind when you ask for any more than 1 extra. I’m on the hunt for a new spot that’s still close to home. Only reason I go there at all these days because of how close they are...
Read moreI went in knowing exactly what I wanted to order: Shrimp Yakisoba and miso soup. Yakisoba are thick, pan fried asian noodles. I went in and this short girl took my order, was super nice, and my food didn't take long to order. She brings me my order, and says she has my "shrimp fried rice" for me. .... Fried rice? FRIED RICE? Look, I work in food, and I understand that miscommunications can occur, not a huge deal. Maybe their rice is good. Though I had my heart set on noodles, I decided I'd live with the rice. What really irritated me was the fact that I told her I ordered the yakisoba noodles, and she replied with "I took your order as fried rice, then confirmed it with you." ....I didn't even know that there was fried rice on the menu, why would I have said that instead of the noodles I always get? How and in what way does "yakisoba" sound like "fried rice"? And she did NOT confirm my order. She asked me if there was anything else I would like, if I needed a fork, and to sign the slip since I used my card. I said "no, I don't need a fork", and signed the slip. I even tipped them, since she was so friendly and I knew the food didn't take long. When I did tell her later that I ordered the noodles, she looked at me like I was stupid and there was absolutely no way she could fix my order to be that: what I ordered. Later, I saw that there was a total of 11 shrimp buried in a 2 lb mound of fried rice. 11. They don't skimp on their chicken this bad. Holy cow! Never eating from any Joy Teriyaki restaurant again if this is the quality of service and food we receive....
Read moreFirst time trying this place. Looks plain and shabby upon entering, front counter is hidden behind a pillar. There are sizable flies flying around everywhere. Tried to order a bento but they didnt have the california rolls for it. I asked what was in the mongolian shrimp, she said she didnt really know. I ordered it anyway to give it a try. I was disappointed when i got home to find the shrimp was breaded, heavily. I thought i had at least some nice size shrimp, only to find almost popcorn shrimps disguised as jumbo shrimp. The shrimp inside was also extremly dry, almost shrimp jerky. Veggies served with it were also overcooked and soggy. Served with 2 scoops of white rice that was actually decently cooked. Overall, for $11, i want my money back and will not...
