China Max — Restaurant in Trumbull

I would give China Max 2 stars. The customer service was pretty good and they got me with the orange chicken sample. 5 stars to their orange chicken! They use tempura batter for theirs and I honestly had to keep checking because my mind couldn't always tell if I was actually tasting chicken or shrimp. Great for someone like me but maybe not if you don't like the taste of tempura battered shrimp. The boneless spare ribs were so-so and kind of a let down. Definitely NOT that throwback from the local Chinese spot flavor smh the noodles were right above trash for taste, quality, and flavor. So, I probably won't try those again. I’ve been getting China Max in Trumbull Mall since they arrived awhile back. The food is pretty decent. Their coconut shrimp is one of my favorites. Well was! Yesterday I ordered the coconut shrimp along with two other items. I ate a bit of it after ordering and saved the rest for the next day (today). I had two coconut shrimps on my plate today. I ate the first one with no problem. The last one, because the shrimp are little in the breading, I only bit into the breading part. It opened. To which revealed something so disgusting to me and many others. The shrimp inside had NOT been cleaned. There was shrimp 💩 still in the shrimp. China Max is hands down one of the best Chinese restaurants I've been to! The food is always fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Their orange chicken is crispy and tangy, the beef and broccoli is tender and savory, and the dumplings are simply delicious. Portions are generous, and everything comes out hot and fast. The service is just as impressive-friendly, efficient, and welcoming. The staff goes out of their way to make sure you have a great dining experience.
