Pros: The pupusas were good, they were small bit overall good. The waitress was sweet and attentive and doing the best she could.
They didn't explain their service and most of the pupuserias function the same way. It's not fully Salvadorian so it's a mix of Mexican and Guatemalan. Not what I expected but now I know.
Cons: they serve curtido in little plates which I have not seen before like they portion it out. You usually get a container and serve yourself. The horchata tasted like cinnamon and water. Not good. I sipped and told the young lady I did not like it and order a soda. They def need to work on that. I asked her if it was salvadorian but tasted like a Mexican horchata. Also, my parents ordered something called malata or whatever. They gave them two in one plate. We were so confused and they got another one because the young lady wrote the order wrong. The menu is not descriptive at all.
The curtido tasted odd and the red sauce too. I could see this place being popular for people that don't know but if you are accustomed to going to salvi restaurants just order your pupusas to go. My bill was 60 dollars and I left a tip, that was 8 pupusas, 4 drinks, 2 plates of something I don't know know the name of.
It was all right, there are definetley better for...
Read moreI will say, the food is good. However, service? Not so much. First, the man who took my order was very rude on the phone. Then, I come in to pick up my food, they bring it out, but I add something to the order since the man on the phone couldn't understand me. I paid for my food (or so I thought) and waited for the one thing I ordered additionally to be made.....took about 10 minutes, which was a while for something so simple (which was also $8). Then, when they bring it out, I ask for the other part of my order and a customer had to help me out because the lady didn't know what I was talking about. Turns out, she didn't charge me for the first part of my order! The entire time they were so rude and even when I was paying I could tell that they were talking about the fact that I didn't speak Spanish!!!! I'm sorry, didn't know I had to speak Spanish to get my order when it's already made?!?!! Like, I can gladly use my Google translate or whatever if they really couldnt understand, but I've never been treated so rude because I didn't speak enough Spanish. It's just upsetting because I was very excited to try the food and honestly at this point, I don't know if...
Read moreFirst time going and it won't be the last! Walked in there and asked for the Mango flavored drink they didn't have it made but offered to make it right away. Ordered a pupusa, tacos and a sope for 2 people. The portions were so great that we were full half way thru our ordered. Everything tasted fresh and looked fresh! This is my new favorite spot. Te hacen sentir como en casa :)
Update: Haven't gone back in a while, decided to try it again recently and was disappointed. Tacos where dripping with grease, you could squeeze the tortilla and see it, there was barely any cilantro or onions on them. Drink tasted so watered down, the torta was tiny and almost 15 dollars. Sopes went up a whole 2 dollars. Burrito was small too and serving for the main meals got smaller. The economy is rough and it's understandable they needed to raise their prices after 3 years but quality went down. Won't be back after being a customer...
