This coffeeshop is definitely the go-to place for a quiet time. The staff is really nice and welcoming, making feel right at home—even as a first-timer! Today was a cloudy day, so the interior was pretty ambient and muted, giving off some sort of library-from-medieval-times vibe and added to my experience there.
In terms of food, I ordered what I think is called The Weezer(?) in a potato bowl that consists of eggs, tomato, avocado, bacon, and some condiments. I definitely would have enjoyed this for breakfast, (breakfast and lunch is served all day) but alas, I couldn't quite eat it earlier than I did. That didn't take away from the food, however, and when topped with some black pepper found in the basket on any of the tables, it was very enjoyable! I also ordered an iced caramel macchiato for about $4 and it matches what one would get at Wawa. There are other varities of milk one can try, but I'd have to visit again to experiment.
It appears that pairs of people often come here, judging by how the tables are set up with two chairs, though there is seating the family can share near the door. Eating alone (which is what I did) isn't too awkward either, which is something I find myself doing pretty often as of late, so that's a definite plus. There's also a bar-like table that is seated in front of a window with a view towards the river by the seaport, and had the weather been better, it would have looked very good.
All in all, I highly recommend coming here for an easy time with a friend or two. The food is definitely a strong point, and the coffee is also quite good and customizable with milk and sugar if you buy a basic cup. The interior is very pleasant combined with a welcoming staff, and as someone who was hyped to come to this place for a while, it certainly did...
Read morePoor at best. Took my order handed me a number and was told to have a seat where you like we will bring it out. Tipped well over 30% as you pay when you order. Waited, wondered and watched others get their drinks that arrived after my wife and I. As I was about to get up and check on drinks our food arrived. So I go back in and am told our drinks were never made because our machine is acting funny. Waited for drinks and by the time I got them my food was ice cold. Spent $50 on our wedding anniversary for a nice breakfast and it was not nice to say the least. From someone who is in the restaurant business and works at a high volume seafood restaurant in the area....you all dropped the ball. My wife and I go to breakfast alot as that's one of the times we see each other as I work almost every night. We will not be returning. And this is only the 2nd restaurant review I've ever given. Sad. You've fallen out of the breakfast lol
Hey Owner, that was the problem. Your staff did nothing to rectify the situation. Other than say sorry and proceed to make several other drinks right in front of me as I waited for my 2. They could've immediately made them first and they could have offered to at least warm my breakfast back up. Neither of which were offered. Just a half hearted...
Read moreMy girls and I stopped in and were excited to check it out and unfortunately it wasn't the best experience. We came in 30 min. before they closed and we were being rushed which is fine we told them we would hurry so we didn't keep them late but still rushed us. Then I ordered the grilled cheese which I was so excited because it sounded amazing, I told the girl no mayo though because I'm allergic. We got our food and I was about to bite into the grilled cheese but decided to check it first, there was mayo on it. I asked someone about it and she just said yup it has mayo on it and told me she could see if they could possibly make me a new one but they were closing up. She didn't seem like she wanted bothered with it so I just left. Needless to say I paid for the grilled cheese and it went in the trash. I was so bummed. So if your allergic to anything just double check what you get before eating/drinking it. We definitely would not have kept the workers past their closing time, however if I would have eaten that mayo they would have been there a lot later past close. Lol We are from out of town so I won't be going back. Gave the food a 3.... I mean it looked good but I have no idea how it tasted. The atmosphere was really nice and I like the art work so...
