Strangest experience I've ever had at a pizza joint.
I called in an order and went to pick it up. One guy behind the counter was talking on the phone(phone guy), trying hard not to make eye contact. A gentleman in a suit walked up behind the counter on a phone as well and tapped phone guy on the arm. He was motioning like he wanted a pen, but even he couldn't seem to get the attention of phone guy. There was a pen on the counter, but I guess he couldn't see it. I gave him the pen and he wandered off.
I stood around for another 5 minutes or so, trying to entertain my kids and checking out the decor in the new location. A 3rd gentleman approached the 2nd register, also was trying super hard not to make eye contact. He at least half smiled when I said "Hello," but he did not look up from the computer. As soon as he finished his business, he--quite literally--ducked away. I'd never actually seen a person actually duck...away. He kind of spun and crouched and pretended like somebody behind him was in dire need of his assistance.
At some point while I was admiring the agility of guy #3, phone guy had skirted by. Man, where did he go? I start to suspect that this is actually a front for a ninja school.
Now I am alone at the counter except for the company of my kids. A delivery driver walked up to the computer. She was the only person in a uniform and a hat, so I'm just guessing she was a delivery driver. She also gave me the Black Jack stare and just smiled while she hit a few keys on the computer, then walked away.
A cloud of smoke formed from the ground and phone guy reappeared. He asked me if I was there for a pickup. I told him my name and he got me my pizzas. He printed out the receipt for me to sign, but there was no pen. I asked him for one and he told me "you gave him the pen we use for that" and then he walked away. He came back after a few seconds and I asked him if he had a pen again. He told me "just scratch it like this with your finger."
We got home and dug in to the pizza. It's about as good as a hot n' ready, but they didn't cut either of them very well at all. I think my suspicions have been confirmed... this is actually a...
Read moreOrdered a pizza and some cinnabread at 5:03pm, was told via the site 45 min - okay, typical, no problem. At 5:50 I checked to see where it was at, it said it was out for delivery... yay, any minute right? No. Had to call at about 20 after 6, I was asked to hold and I said sure - after 2 min it went to a voicemail? Weird. Decided to give them 10 more minutes, called again at 6:32 asking where the pizza was, was told "any minute now" - which ended up being true, but the pizza was room temperature at best for the center pieces, but the cinnabread was kinda hard and looked like it was sitting for a while (kinda dull-looking). My husband was super furious, but I try not to get too upset on people. I called the store and the guy on the phone offered a discount for the trouble, but in my husband's opinion we should have gotten a full refund since he refused to touch it - I tried to eat some of my half, it was just ok. If the website gave me a semi-accurate estimate, it might have been fine but the pizza would probably still be room temperature. Also I think after putting me on hold that the voicemail thing is weird, but it could be common with chains like this, and I wouldn't really know. Husband says not to order again, I would say if you want to try it like we did, go pick...
Read moreThis used to be our favorite place when it was at the old location. This place is now a disaster. Customer service is horrible, wait times are outrageous and there is no longer any quality control over what they send out of the kitchen.
Our last order was for a single Large Jackpot pizza, A kind of everything pizza with green and black olives. Due to an allergy we requested NO Green Peppers, and to add feta cheese. The $30 pizza (that was $40 after tax, delivery charges and tip) was 1) covered in green peppers 2) no feta to be found & 3) without green or black olives. Are you kidding me??
Called the store immediately and explained what we received - no apology. Told a new one would be made and sent out. When I asked how long, 45 min. We’d waited an hour for this one. I asked what they were going to do to make up for this and he processed to tell me we were getting a “free” pizza and we could eat the wrong one! I explained AGAIN that no we could not due to an allergy and they could have it back. He said to just trash it and when I again asked how they were going to make up for their error he said “fine, 20% off” and hung up. He lied. My card was never credited and they charged the full $40. There isn’t a pizza good enough to make me want to deal with this...
