My partner recommended eating here because he visited many times, and claimed it to have the "Best Breakfast in Tuscon." Those are some pretty strong words, so I couldn't refuse the to experience this great place myself. Honestly, it was enjoyable to from start to finish. But speaking as a critic, I would warn potential guests that this place is so popular that it was fully packed by 10 in the morning on a Friday in March. That means even if you schedule a visit on a day where you are positive it won't be crowded, more than likely you'll be wrong. My partner & I waited five minutes to be seated in a tight dining area with your chairs close to the other guests. The kitchen area is clearly visible when you enter, and you can hear the searing of the food. We were seated in the very back and it was still loud. The rowdy noises coupled with the close proximity to customers could make a guest overstimulated and uncomfortable. Customer service is at my top priority when I rate though, so this place still gets high remarks for how the staff treated us. They kept a cool head through the chaos, and gave us exactly the order we wanted. With so many people, I feared it wouldn't come out right. But they served what I ordered, which was scrambled eggs & bacon with a side of hash browns and white, buttered toast (Tip: Try the grape jelly with the toast. It's delicious!). Everything was perfectly done, and I ate it all right up. I can see why my partner named it the best food in town. It was fantastic, but with such a heavy crowd, I hope they're able to expand their business so it won't feel so claustrophobic. Great work overall, and I'll order from here again!

Yes, looks can truly be deceiving. Frank's seriously lacks any snazzy curb appeal. If you're coming for the aesthetic value you're certainly not at the right place. Architecturally Frank's is beyond unimpressive. If however on the other hand you're searching for darn good food, you've just hit the motherload. I was immediately welcomed upon entry and advised to sit wherever I could find some room. And while crowded, the small dining room wasn't cramped to the point where there wasn't an open spot for me to sit and call my own. I've been meaning to get to this place for several years and just never made it until today. I normally would drive by and see that the parking lot is completely full, so I would skip it and go somewhere else. Today was no exception the parking lot was full but again there was room for one more. Frank's offers an impressively large menu selection with abundant variety. I elected to partake in the chicken fried steak, over easy eggs, hash browns along with the sourdough toast. The lag time from ordering to table presentation was minimal at best. My food arrived at what I considered to be record setting warp speed. My selection arrived hot, fresh and delicious, and visually appealing. I simply could not clear my plate as portion control at Frank's apparently doesn't exist. I would highly recommend visiting this Tucson original. Now I'm intrigued and I will have to come back for dinner next. Overall highly pleased with all aspects of my visit.

I really enjoyed my visit to Franks restaurant here in central Tucson, AZ. As the sign says this is not for you if you want a fine dining experience. But if you want good food with an authentic Tucson flare, friendly staff, and reasonable prices. Then Franks is for you. My waiter, Andrew, was friendly, fast and attentive. I had the Green chili and cheese omelette with chorizo and locally made tortillas. I also tried out the fresh made biscuit. All was wonderful. I’ll eat there again. Frank’s Restaurant 10-4-25 Updated My second time back at Franks. It was less crowded this time around at 11AM on a Saturday. Ample parking. It’s not the best part of town but I felt safe. There were some bothersome flies in the outside eating area I don’t remember from before. If that bothers you, there was plenty of room inside. Staff were all friendly and helpful and always. Tried the cheese steak w/ provolone this morning with Home Fries. The roll was soft but robust. The steak was tasty with the onions and peppers done well and nicely browned. Home fry potatoes were cooked well through and not mushy or too hard. Be aware, this is a comfort food here. If you’re looking for fancy, keto, low-cal fare this isn’t the place for you. But I like it. Recommended.

I've lived in Tucson for almost 30 years and had never been here. This place though...it's home cooked food without having to spend 3 hours prepping and 2 hours cleaning after. Without a doubt this was the best breakfast I've ever had in a restaurant. I've never seen a place so busy and packed and still been seated....ordered....and served so fast. The work flow the staff has is a thing to behold. The first thing I ever have at a breakfast place is a chicken fried steak. And Franks was no exception. So tender you could cut it with a fork. Flavor was amazing. Also had a biscuit and gravy....again perfect...decided to get a side of corned beef hash....grilled perfectly. My son who was with me is a burger purist. He had a double with provolone....he asked if he could put an egg on it and the server said if we have it you can add it. The onions were so fresh and crunchy it made you cry! All of that food with coffee and juice was 60 bucks....No restaurant can feed you that much food for that price. The owner was there filling water glasses and coffee right along with his staff. And every single staff member was smiling and helpful. I didn't ask the cooks name but he was amazing to watch. One guy cooking for 50 people or more and not a single miscue. That man should be proud of what he does. I cannot recommend this place enough. If youve been there you know. If you haven't...
