Unfortunately my hair cut at Forage went extremely poorly. I requested 4 inches off and some long layers from the"Layers Specialist" Jaq. The first picture was my hair the day before the cut. The second and third pictures are the cut i received. We had spoke at length about how I have always kept my hair long and that i prioritized keeping the length. The cut was choppy, uneven, and devastating. The shortest pieces reached the nap of my neck. There were chunks of hair missing and chunks that were completely uncut. An appointment was scheduled with the manager for the next day to salvage what was left of my hair. I told the manager that i just wanted it cut at the shoulders and for some of the layering left to be blended out. I said I wanted to prioritize the texture and smooth out the chunky cut. The forth picture is the cut i received from the manager. I was hopeful while in the salon as the front looked ok but when i got home I was able to take a better look at the back. While far more blended it was still completely uneven, choppy, and now much of it cant stay in a pony tail much less any other style. The final picture is my mother in laws handy work. She is a former stylist and was able to even out the work and make the cut something I can wear while it grows out. I lost 13 inches of hair and ended up somewhere between a wolf cut and The Rachel. I am always so excited to go back to Forage Salon for a haircut! The space is very inclusive, comfortable, and well curated. There's a positive and mellow vibe here with good music. The most important thing to me over the years, is that Shaye has continuously helped me find confidence in my gender expression, which for me, is tied to having a cool short cut!

I feel so relaxed in Shaye’s chair and fully trust them. They gave me my first short haircut, and since then we’ve been playing with variations of soft layered mullets. My favorite is when I can go in for a 2 hour appointment, receive a relaxing scalp treatment, and get into what haircut is going to make me feel my best. I like how I can bring in inspiration photos, or just chat with Shaye about what I want to change within the different areas of my hair. I was so happy with my haircut! I'm a curly queen and have been exclusively going to curly hair stylists for my cuts. However, after years of high maintenance cuts and "shelf" type layers, I decided to try something new. I was looking for a low maintenance, shag haircut and came across Forage Salon during my search. I was enticed by their welcoming atmosphere and helpful social media pages which showed past clients. Shaye, the owner and cutting specialist, did my hair, and I couldn't be happier! She started with a long list of questions and follow up questions to understand my routine and style boundaries. I work in academia, so I didn't want too over the top, but I really wanted layers, volume, and more bounce!
