Ponchos Mexican Food — Restaurant in Tucson

This is my first time going there yesterday. I asked for the biggest burrito they had and the nice lady pointed to the El Super burrito. It came with everything I enjoy in a Burrito Beans, rice, Pico de guillo, lettuce, guacamole and sour cream and asked for Carne asada. I've always said.. A great burrito is a burrito that is flavorful in every bite and salsa is only added to give it some heat. On this delicious burrito I did not have to add salsa, lemon nor salt. I gotta say this is the BEST BURRITO I have ever had besides mine lol!! My wife loved their street tacos and shrimp tacos we had also ordered. My cousin and I use to own a Mexican restaurant back in the 90's in North Hollywood California and Burritos were our specialty. Unfortunately we were young and sold the place. Sonoran dogs: A little heavy on the condiment side but the flavor balance was perfect. It was a simple Sonoran dog but that flavor profile was good.

French Fries: I dont know how they cooked these fries but absolutely brilliant. They weren't greasy. Super crispy with a soft center. Eat them plain or with a dip.

Taco Salad: I only had a couple bites but it was delicious. Meat was tender, the lettuce was crispy, the bell peppers were soft but firm, and had a get balance of flavors. Had to make a special mention about the Spanish rice in the Taco Salad, wow. You know that scene in Ratatouille where the food credit has a flashback to his childhood eating mom's food after tasting the Chief's food. Litterly that for me...

Stopped in today for lunch around 11. Ordered a burrito and Enchilada combo and hubby ordered a taco and burrito combo. The young woman at the counter was soooo friendly and knew the menu well. She was such a delightful encounter it's 100% why I'm making it a point to come here and review. Shout out to her, you were a pleasure and made our morning!! The food came super quickly and was literally made right in front of us. Asada was very flavorful and not and fat throughout the whole thing, was very impressed there. Enchiladas were also pretty tasty. I had the green salsa and it had a nice kick to it. Over all it was a great choice for food on that side of town and we will definitely stop back by when...
