Jethro's Cafe and Tavern — Restaurant in Tucson

So right off the bat, the food is fantastic. I got a chicken fried pork loin smothered in gravy. The gravy is exceptional. Their hashbrowns are done right. Very thinly shaved potatoes, pan or griddle fried perfectly on the outside, but still soft and fluffy inside. The eggs were cooked to order perfectly. With that being said here was my issue. (This is about 1 specific server, not the whole staff). We had a server who from the moment she arrived at our table was rude, indifferent, forgetful, and just seemed to dislike her job. Now she could've just been having an off day. Idk. I asked for water for the table after my daughter had ordered a lemonade. The server refused to bring her water because she already had a drink. I had to argue with her just for 1 more glass of water. Actually the 1st thing I brought to her attention was we only had 1 set of silverware at the table. She never acknowledged me but I know she heard me so I didn't bring it up again. When we ordered she wasn't helpful with our menu questions. When we finished ordering before I had even completed speaking she just walked away. Waiting for our food my wife, daughter and I played Candyland & Chutes and Ladders. So it's a fun place. I kept waiting for her to return with more silverware but she never did. I had to stop a different server and ask her because our server was never seen again until she brought our food. When she did bring the food she forgot our toast. I reminded her we ordered toast and she said she'd go grab it. She never did. We never saw her again. After eating almost my whole meal, with the exception of my 2 eggs because I need toast, I had to flag down another server again and explain to her the situation with our server. She came back with our toast in 3 mins. I asked her for a box and the check because I was done with our server. When she brought the check she offered us a 20% discount or a free pastry on her. My wife and daughter chose the pastry. They do a military discount so I was going to get a discount anyway. I was quite pleased with the food. But our server was horrible. It was very disappointing. The free pastry was a gigantic, delicious cinnamon roll. Super fresh and just perfect. I absolutely recommend eating here. I'm hoping it was just a bad day for the server and normally she's great, but despite the crappy service that day the food and the atmosphere...

Recently ate at this restaurant on sept 17th and we had a bad experience with one of the servers. Made a request to have a soda with a tahin rimmed glass and the server was rude and confused by my request and said went on to say that there could be a charge for that but didn’t verify and let us know before bringing it to us. She also brought originally the wrong drink an iced tea with lemon and I ordered a soda with a tahin rim and she became rude and said I guess I will have to get rid of this. My husband asked for a non spicy Bloody Mary and an iced tea she brought him a very spicy one as I tasted it as well and no iced tea until we mentioned it was missing. Then when our food came I ordered a ham steak well so that it is grilled a bit more than ususal and she brought it and it was only done on one side. Also, when it came back ok the next time I asked for a plate for my English muffin and she proceed to ask after she brought it sarcastically and rude “is the anything else I could do for you”. This is also the second time I have ordered the taters and they have been not cooked. At the time of paying for the the server argued with us about the .25 charge for the tahin. She continued to pick an argument with me and my husband over the tahin rim and .25 cents that several customers including my husband asked her to stop. We have eaten her many times and have never had this bad of service. Very disappointing and not sure when we will be back. ...

I went to Jethro's to eat breakfast on my birthday of all days for this to happen is truly disappointing. I have been here several times and this times. I was excited and starving but after seeing my food lost my appetite and did not touch any of it and I spoke to the waitress and expressed that I did not like any of it and I'm sure she could see nothing had been touched.Then she explained that it is what I ordered so I will pay for this but will not be coming back look at the pictures and tell me how I'm spending 48.82 for two breakfasts that was for two people and I did not even touch mine. So disappointed wish today went different. Never even considered if I was not touching my food because it looks disgusting and who does not at least eat the bacon it's bacon but the hole experience has left quite a bad taste in my mouth for now I said here for a little over an hour and a half and I haven't eaten anything,I drank the coffee and my friend ate her food but what a waste of my birthday breakfast. I used to order to go here from work 2-4 times a month I won't be doing this anymore. Normally very good...
