Pizza was great. Gaming was bad.
We just held my son's 7th birthday at Peter Piper. We've had a few parties there in the past, but this was unfortunately our last time. Our main issue was with the new funpass card system. When we booked the party, it was still the token system- but sometime between booking and our arrival, it had switched to funpass cards. We had a lot of kids between 5-7 years old. It's much easier for them to conceptualize how much the game costs when they're handed a little cup with a set number of tokens. Several kids ran out of money on their cards within the first 10 minutes because they just tapped their card repeatedly on one game, draining their card to play a single game only one time. Once we realized why their cards were suddenly empty, we brought it to the attention of an employee, asking if there was a way to reload the cards. She was apologetic but said there was nothing she could do. We spent $240 on this party, and a large chunk of that was immediately gone because the system to pay for games at a children's restaurant was too confusing for those children. The card system works at a place like Dave & Busters because adults understand the concept of the cards, but little kids need to see the tangible tokens to understand how much each game is, how much to spend to play a game, and when they're out of money.
Our other main issue was that the carousel was shut down, and had apparently been broken down for months. I heard an employee tell another customer that it would be out for another month at least. Really? We had several preschoolers in our group that were really sad about that.
We've enjoyed our parties there in the past but will not be returning. We've enjoyed our parties there in the past but will not...
Read moreOverall, this place was not clean, staff didn’t appear to be managed very well, there was a lot of chaos, and the food was gross.
I got take out pizza and wings because the restraint was highly rated on Google Maps. The website was a little clunky, but usable. When I arrived, I noticed there was garbage strewn across the floor. The restaurant itself looks like a cafeteria from the 90s, with a few games at the back. The open kitchen had about 15 staff members working, some hard, some not at all that I could tell. I walked up to the cash register under the large Take Out sign and was ignored for a while. Eventually, one of the employees that was standing around told me that I had to go stand in the long line to order food. About 15 minutes later, I get up to the other cash register. After ringing me up, the cashier cuts up someone else’s pizza, and then brings over my food. He definitely didn’t wash his hands or were gloves, but I guess he wasn’t touching the food directly. It’s weird to make the cashier cut up pizzas, instead of the 5 people milling about the table where pizzas are sliced. The pizza itself tasted of cardboard and wasn’t really cut through. It wasn’t the worst pizza, but frozen pizzas are noticeably better than this. The buffalo wings were fairly good, greasy but flavorful. The cheese bread was mostly dry bread with a smattering of cheese and seasoning on top. The portions were small, especially...
Read moreAnytime I go to this Peter Piper the food is always hot and fresh, they have a really good selection of pizzas and they try to switch it up. Sometimes if they're not too busy I could request a certain pizza and they will put it out. Salads are really fresh and crisp bread sticks are amazing, I didn't know this but you could ask for marinara sauce a friend told me she always does this. The game area is always nice and clean even on really busy weekends. I wish they wouldn't have did away with the tickets just because my kids are very physical kids and they like to see what they're winning but either way it's a fun atmosphere. The berry go round isn't always an operation sometimes there's not enough staff to run it, some days my kids only get to ride once, other days they could ride two or three times. It's free and does not use any tickets or points, unlike the other location that has a roller coaster and you have to pay for that separately.
The only thing I would rate would star is the fried zucchini. They are very thin with very little breading and almost no flavor. I love fried zucchini so the first time I bought I was a little disappointed and ended up buying again probably about a year later and there wasn't much of a difference. I have never tried their wigs, I usually go for the unlimited...
