Fantastic lunch monday. My wife, & I were planning on breakfast, but the time got away from us so we decided to have lunch. It was around 11:00 so it was between the breakfast,& lunch crowd. The place was about half full, so we new the order would be placed quickly. I must add as we walked in the greeting was quite warm,& genuine. Four servers working, & all gave a wonderfully fresh salutation towards the both of us. This was also noticed throughout our entire stay with every customer that walked in, or was leaving. We had a friendly,& very knowledgable server. She was patient,& accomodating when we ordered, & very attentive throughout our lunch. We ordered a Philly Steak sandwich w/fries, & a reuben with crispy fries, & extra pickles. (The thing we've noticed through many of our dinning experiences in all types of restaurants in, & out of the city is that often times special requests, within the orders are typically forgotten, or made incorrectly). In the multitude of breakfast,& lunches we've consumed at the Bread & Butter over the last twentyfive years this rarely occures, perhaps two, or three times in totality, but has always been corrected within a timely manor with rapid replacement, apology ,& a smile. The lunch was amazing, both sandwiches were prepaired to perfection. Hot, & abundant with product, bread perfectly toasted, not inundated with two much butter, (which occures often on the toasting). The fries were plentifull, & prepaired exactly as I had ordered. The condiments were fresh,& I got my extra pickles😋. Our server replenished our ice tea's, regularly, & was constantly present, without hovering over us!. She recommended desserts, but we were stuffed. The.check was dropped at a timely manor,& change with a warm departing salutation was very quick. I can't emphasise enough about the quality,& care in food,& joyfull service my wife, & I have experience at this clean, warm, & very positively run restaurant!. I would put it up against any mom,& pop place,as well as any chain for the attention to detail, in every important aspect of dinning!!. Definately a 10+...
Read moreI loved almost everything I have eaten from the bread and butter cafe. Until they ruin my last 3 orders.
I normally don’t care for hash browns but I absolutely love toast. So I asked to “please substitute the hash browns for toast if possible.” They decided to replace the English muffins on my Eggs Benedict with toast that was not toasted. If substituting hash brows for toast was not an option. Then just don’t substitute hash browns for toast. No need to ruin someone’s food. Just because they asked. That’s why I said “if possible”
I really did love the food at the bread and butter cafe. So I attempted to order it again. Maybe I was not clear enough and got misunderstood last time. So I ask to “if possible please substitute the side of hash brow for a side of toast.” They decided to replace the English muffin for toast that was not toasted again and just not include any hash browns.
Around a month after my last order. I really wanted some good home cooked food. My friend asked if I wanted the bread the butter cafe. I mentioned how badly my last two orders got ruined. So we decided to really word it as carefully as possible to hopefully not be misinterpreted this time. So we asked if they could “Keep English muffins in the Benedict. Substitute sourdough toast for hash browns. Sourdough Toast in separate container." Sadly the once again replaced the English muffins on the Eggs Benedict with non toasted toast. Even tho I said to keep English muffins in the Eggs Benedict.
At this point I don’t understand how that can be a misunderstanding or an accident. I really have tried to think of any other reason. Sadly I can’t think of any other reason then that they are ruining my food on purpose. Really truly insulting especially because I don’t understand why they would do that. The food that was made correctly from here was so good it’s a shame that would ruin it like that. honestly could not be more...

However the worst part was When I am sitting there eating my breakfast. And very Abruptly And rudely a Mexican server Comes and grabs one of the Chairs from the table I'm Sitting at. Without ever asking If I was, Perhaps expecting, Someone to join me. Or at the very least, asking if it would be ok to take the chair. Never acknowledged me any what so ever.
