This place is a disaster. The ambiance is deeply weird (they fixed the no music problem cited in prior review, instead they had a lounge act rendition of the Spider Man theme) and we were the only customers in the small restaurant at 11:45 a.m. on a Saturday.
To drink, I ordered a Diet Coke, and my wife just asked for water. The Diet Coke came out in a can, which had expired four months prior (August of 2024. Isn’t that when this location opened!?!?) and lost its flavor, and my wife’s water came out in a plastic bottle.
I ordered the dynamite roll, fried shrimp and cream cheese Inside, with salmon on top, and an order of the tostada with shrimp. My wife, a vegetarian, ordered the poblano roll, one of approximately two items on the menu not featuring meat.
My food arrived first, and the dynamite roll was deeply unsettling. Instead of traditional sushi rice, they had sort of a super compressed rice glob encasing the interior ingredients. In fairness, the interior ingredients were probably fine, if unexciting. The salmon on top, however, was vile. It was cut extremely thin, and folded over on itself. The color of the salmon, if indeed that’s what it was, was a muted pink, appropriate for neither cooked salmon nor the raw salmon one traditionally associated with sushi. In the few bites I tried of the dynamite roll (not the salmon), any flavor of the interior ingredients was entirely overtaken by the blandness of the compressed rice blob.
The ceviche was fine.
Finally, my wife’s roll arrived, and after she started to bite into it, she realized that the main ingredient appeared to be chicken, despite this not being a listed ingredient. Otherwise, the theoretically baked roll was luke warm, and covered in a congealed poblano sauce and corn kernels. Although my wife stopped eating after she realized there was chicken in the roll, I tried some of the chicken to be sure that’s what it was. Either they used canned chicken for this dish, or someone figured out an uncanny simulacrum of canned chicken. Also, given we were the only customers, it is borderline impressive that this roll wasn’t served hot.
We had bad vibes from the start, from the weird ambiance, to the lack of customers, to the extensive menu featuring sushi, Sonoran food, Italian food, Cuban food, and countless other options. Should have listened to our gut and given...
Read moreFirst off, the hours of operation are kind of crazy. I had such high hopes for this place. I went the very first day that they opened super excited. But everything that I wanted they said that they did not have. In fact absolutely everything that I wanted they said they didn't have. I have since returned once or twice every single week since they have been opened and each and every time I have gone I'm told that whatever I'm looking at on the menu is not available...every single time. It's gotten to the point where I will point at whatever somebody else is eating at the table next to me and said "I'll take some of that" And the server or whoever is at the front desk will tell me that they are all out... my mind is blown every single time. And each and every time I'm told the same exact thing when I asked them well what do you have. And every single time I am told that they don't have anything and they don't have any fish. I've just come to the conclusion that they don't want me eating there. I don't know what else to say and I don't know what else to think. Honestly all I ever wanted was some damn ceviche. I even called last week and they told me that they had ceviche. I drove down and then they told me that they don't have ceviche. I have been to this restaurant more than 10 times and every time walked out with no food because apparently they don't have anything on the menu. I'm still perplexed...
Read morePlaced order on a Sunday night at 740pm, expected pickup was 810. We showed up to no cars being there and the order wasn’t even started, we didn’t get our order until 840. 1 hour for 3 rolls and chicken teriyaki, keep in mind $80 worth of food. The host inside said they only had 1 cook so it’s going to be a while, I sat in the car while my boyfriend was inside waiting. I noticed a cook going in and out of an outdoor food truck with food in his hands going in and out of building. That was already giving me red signs, our food we received the overall size was large but there was an instant Oder coming from it as if there was an issue with the seafood. I refused to eat 2 of the rolls and the 3rd roll was okay as well as the chicken teriyaki but an overall weird taste to all the food as if there was contamination or unsafe food being used. Highly recommend having all food be inspected...
