Zinburger — Restaurant in Tucson

Went to Zinburger on Mother's Day shortly after they opened, with a reservation. We sat out on the patio which was nicely social distanced, covered, etc. Problem was we sat down (with our two young kids) at 11:20am and by 11:35am no one had even come by to say hello, bring waters, etc. Not what I was hoping for my wife's mother's day (only a couple times at a restaurant in the last year due to covid). So after the 15 minutes I went to go inside to talk to the hostess that seated us, but she was on the phone. A gentleman asked me if he could help me with something. I calmly explained the situation and he said he'd personally take care of us right now (I think he was the manager). He was very kind, apologized, and took care of our order. From that point on, service was above expectations haha. I think he did his managerial duty and talked to his staff. From then on we had two very nice servers stopping by to check on us. And in the end he comp'ed an order of fries and the two sangrias my wife ordered. He did all that without me being demanding. Food was good too. This made our night after a stress filled day. Great service by Olivia and a delicious meal.

We ordered half sweet potato fries half zucchini fries for our side to share, it arrived early, as requested. The sweet potato fried were cooked nicely without being burnt as so many places are want to do, the tangy yogurt dipping sauce provides a nice contrast. The zucchini fries are thin like fries and lightly breaded with parmesan, cooked without being floppy with a nice crunch from the coating.

My wife and I both had the California Burger Bowl, mine I only remembered to take a picture after I was halfway through... hers was gone already. While they are called a "burger bowl" you can choose any of their patties or the filet of salmon on top. My wife's salmon was cooked perfectly and seasoned well, nice and flaky without being dry. My 7oz hamburger pattie was cooked to a perfect medium, as requested, nice and juicy with a perfect balance of seasonings complementing the meat.

It's been two years since I left my original review. Just went today so I'll update it. Food is still very fresh and well prepared. Staff is very friendly. We ordered burgers. I ordered mine without a bun and well done. It showed up with a bun had to be taken back to be put on lettuce. I couldn't find my server so I had to ask the hostess to find him. This took time and my meat got cold and the rest of our group was half done. Then when I bit into it the meat was pink not fully cooked. I didn't send it back since everyone was almost done. I just hope I don't get sick. My husband asked for med well done and his was fully pink, not just a little. We were with others so didn't want to delay their meals.
