I had lunch with my family that included our 2 & 4 year old boys. Sunday October 27th from 12:49 – 1:51pm, table # 203 (Patio). Amada B, our server was great and NEVER once made us aware of any issues or concerns throughout our entire time at the establishment. However, Chelsea, who was NOT OUR SERVIER, took a huge interest in us & my two boys.
The Union experience started as usual. Greet by host, get sat, wait to be greeted by our server. All of which happened accordingly. Where things took a turn for the worst restaurant experience ever was when Chelsea, chewed a little boy from one of her empty tables as if he was a bother & nuisance to her. Asking a child to move so the table is clean & available was not the issue. It was the way she went about it. She obviously has no children, patience or compassion. And if I was his mother, I would have told her to watch her tone. But not my child so not my place.
She then moments later comes out with a sani towel to wipe of the table the little boy was sitting at and slammed down the towel, starts wiping and looks over at our table as if we had anything to do with the child that was not with us. Her bad attitude is not your guest problem. She had misery & disappointment in her section written all over her face.
Our drinks, food, refills, boxes all showed up by either our server or food runners. Not once did any one of your staff mention anything negative to our table.
That is until the very end when Mitch a manager came to tell us that our youngest son can’t be playing behind the patio bar by the stage. Our son was playing near the bar, lower-level patio away from all your guests who were dining & drinking, our child was minding his own business. There was no formal acknowledgement of who Mitch was, as far as I knew he was simply a food runner. When a manager approaches a table, you let the customer know what you are and what the problem is politely, that's customer service 101. Mitch proceeded to walk back into the building but not before he spoke into his head set and saying, “I told them to watch their kid”. Speaking down to people & making passive aggresse comments is not the business he our Union should stand on.
Finally, as we are awaiting our check. Mitch returns to our table address’s us for the second time in an even more load aggressive tone and says, “I'm not going to tell you again, he needs to sit down”. Tell me again... who the hell does he think he is? He is a two-bit restaurant manager that can be replaced at the drop of a hat. Amanda got the check for us, we paid and left. NEVER TO RETURN.
Your only saving grace is that Jared, your GM was kind enough to take my call as soon as we left the building. Jared was understanding, compassionate and tried to make it right. He heard our side of the story as I'm sure he heard his staff's side. Jared, Managed! He tried his hardest to defuse the call and listened to us as paying customers & frustrated, disappointed parents. Blaming, humiliating & belittling the customer is what your manager Mitch stands on. DO BETTER! BE BETTER! LEARN from this MITCH!
Chelsea, next time your board instead of targeting a 2-year-old, keep yourself busy with some running side work. DO BETTER! BE BETTER! LEARN from this Chelsea!
You can listen to your staff's side of the story till the cows come home. I'm sure there is footage of this incident. We were sitting at table 203 and the camera above us was facing our table. Review the footage!
I hope this message gets to the correct people. Corrections are made and not one more parent needs to deal with the bullshit we delt with.

Read moreAfter recently receiving a cancer free diagnosis, my daughter, 2 nieces and I wanted to celebrate the news at this location. We were greeted in a pleasant way by the Security guard named Andrew. Originally we requested to dine in the patio area but were instead directed by the waitress to sit indoors due to one of my nieces being 20 years old. The indoor option was to be seated in a small table evidently intended for guests of two which made spacing between us uncomfortable. We then asked to speak to a manager to explore the possibility of being seated outside. The waitress was coarse in all her responses to us and visibly irritated throughout this time. When the manager arrived to our table one of my nieces began to make the inquiry before being rudely interrupted with a shouting response. He stated he was deaf in one ear when we gestured if he could lower his voice. The manager continued to shout and arrogantly explain that they had a long waiting list and we could not be accommodated. We were willing to overlook the situation considering we hadn't made a reservation. Shortly after the same waitress came to take our order for drinks and appetizers. We placed our orders and requested a virgin margarita for my underage niece. As soon as we got our drinks we decided to take a video to post on social media. Before we could do so the waitress suddenly reached over the table and yanked the drink from my hand, placed it away from my niece and furiously blurted out that our alcoholic drinks could not be next to one another. She spitefully continued to say “we are watching you” insinuating we had careless intentions of letting our underage member drink. I responded that we did not need to be watched which was why we were led to sit inside in the first place and together as a group. The appetizers were then brought in and took up most of the dining surface. A waiter then came to drop off the dinner selections for my nieces and daughter excluding myself. The waiter simply shifted the empty plates to my table corner when setting down the food but did not bother to remove them. After a considerable amount of time had passed a different waitress came with my dinner order. Instead of clearing the surface area or setting down my food, she casually stood next to me looking at me expecting me to take the dinner plate off her hands. After standing there she exclaimed and proceeded to remove the empty appetizer plates before setting down the food.
Overall this was a horrendous dining experience with extremely unprofessional and vindictive staff members. I can understand drinking policies for minors can be in place but in no way excuse such deplorable behavior. Very disappointed...
Read moreI wasn't going to leave a review, but I can't get over this experience. A group of us went to Union saturday night the 8th? and ended up leaving disgusted. While the staff was great and the Dj was ok. One woman, "The Manager," btw we only learned this because she reapeated it over and over also " this is union public house!!". She was just angry and awful. During our visit, we watched her throw a fit at the bar staff. She was yelling, pointing, and waving her arms around. This lasted awhile until one of the male bartenders stormed off. She followed him, still going. A very confused looking young kid showed up and started doing dishes. Shortly, she returned to go at it again with the bartenders. A different woman in a union jacket appeared. Within seconds of the two women talking, we got another display. They both stormed off towards the bathrooms, obviously still arguing. I don't know what this woman's problem was, but it was not something we wanted to see at all. Thankfully, the dj was loud enough that we didn't have to hear it too! The staff all seemed very uncomfortable, and some looked upset, but somehow, no one seemed shocked or surprised by her tantrum. They all just kept their distance huddled and watched in corners. The poor girl, behind the bar, looked like she was going to cry any minute. We left shortly after. Is this a regular thing?!? After reading other reviews, it really seems to be with that woman. We would have had a great time and stayed longer if she hadn't made us all as uncomfortable as the staff obviously felt. Smh. It really was a terrible ending to a rare night out with friends.before leaving I heard staff verbatim say “ looks like Heavy D is at it again” this being a regular thing is very concerning. I feel extremely sorry for the staff. No one should be degraded in that way,...
