I usually try to be positive about food places because I know most businesses really do try hard to make sure their customers are happy, but this place really just dropped the ball.
Called in an order and the lady on the phone was rude from the start.
I was trying to order a bento box off of what was apparently an old menu online and when she said it was not available, I asked if they had any other bento boxes
Her response was that they had bento box option A and B.
Now, I could hear they were busy, but I was stuck at work, so I could not just go there and order and wait.
So, when I asked again, what the difference was between the 2, she asked me again which one. I told her I still didn't know what was in either one and she asked me if I could call back when I knew what I wanted to order.
Though frustrated, I didn't hang up because they were the closest teriyaki to work and I was buying for my coworkers.
I felt that I had to fight to get an order in and I wasn't even given a total or a time it would be ready. So I had to guess when to send my coworker to pick it up.
Once the order came back to the office, I was appalled by the meal. There were 3 of us at work.
My one coworker spent $9 on some teriyaki and got huge portions (worked out well for him!)
But
My other coworker and I ate the bento boxes
Not only were the portions embarrassingly small (so small my first coworker gave us some of his because he felt bad how much was lacking in our meals) but my coworker and myself who ate the bento boxes ended up with the backdoor trots (if you get what I'm saying)
The coworker who ended up just getting teriyaki had zero issues but I and my other coworker were definitely...
Read moreThis is my go-to teriyaki joint for lunch. I really like the inside of this building. The place is lively and there are always people here during lunch. They always play ESPN every time I come in so that is huge for me! They have pictures of their entrees along the walls so you can get a glimpse of what your food would look like before ordering. The staff members were mostly very nice and even with the constant hustle and bustle that was going on, they remained patient and composed. They give a lot of food and at a decent price. I typically go back and forth between the chicken katsu and the spicy chicken teriyaki. I highly recommend the spicy chicken teriyaki. I've found that some of the teriyaki joints I go to have a pretty inconsistent spice level with their spicy chicken teriyaki. It's either SUPER hot or not hot at all. I haven't had that problem with this teriyaki restaurant...yet. I've eaten at the restaurant a few times and they definitely do their best to ensure that you get your food quickly (4-8 minutes).
Tip: They offer tea for $1 at the cash register. This is clutch on a...
Read moreStaff was friendly. Walked in and placed an order to-go. I sat down and waited less than 5 minutes and the food was ready. I figured it would be since chicken teriyaki is their main order. Like most places, the chicken was cooked and ready and just needed to be chopped, boxed and sauced. It was a little before noon and inside was already packed with people dining in.
Taste was good, nothing to be excited about. It does the job if you're just craving for teriyaki. Portions are exceptional. Even the salad dressing was decent and not the watered down version.
I do find it to be pretty darn pricey. After tax it was $16.46 and then whatever additional if you decide to leave a tip. I feel reluctant to provide a tip on to-go orders, but then I think about my friends and kids who work in the food industry and silently roll my eyes and tip anyway. So, in the end I ended up paying $18.93 for just an order of chicken teriyaki.
There are several parking stalls, but the lot is pretty tight! There are other businesses all around and they share...
