Midnight, dead of night. I, and my traveling companion Sir Charles found ourselves fatigued from a long industrious day. We grew weary, our bellies trembled as a hunger like no other took hold of our waning spirits. Then there! In the closing distance! A glimmering light of green & white beckoned us to it's call! Thy name, Del Taco. Sir Charles ordered a burrito so great in power that it took the name, "Epic" My eyes searched the menu board, too many great options lied within my grasp, but I had only 11 silvers in my pocket & so I had to be thrifty with my decision. My tired eyes finally halted & focused on something called, the 9 dollar Ameri-Mex El Big Box! With haste, I answered to the culinarian through the enchanted voice box, I pleaded, "Yay I must have this box!" She agreed to make this sale, & fill our cavernous bellies. Sir Charles & I agreed that her voice, was merry and pleasant, something we are not accustomed to whilst traveling at night. I pulled the reigns of Honda, a noble steed, & we sped around the corner to the glass window. Without a thought, I handed the vendor my 11 silvers, Sir Charles gave his share of the coin & we waited with far too much anticipation. Finally, the food enchantress handed us our holding bag of nourishment & I could not believe my eyes. My God, it was glorious! The box contained a melting cheese burger, 2 double beef patties still sizzling from the fires. A perfect bun, adourned in flavors. The fries were small, but plenty, as I took no time to gulp down the entire parcel. They had the perfect combination of salt and oil. Yes! Those fries were savory & superb. We pulled Honda to the side, & let him rest as we dug into our treasures. I finally took a bite of my burger, & with that bite I could not hold back my tears. A party of flavors, all in even distribution along and around such a flawlessy delectable burger. Sadly, I knew I were to save the burrito & taco for a later time, but, still... I had to see... I had to know! I pulled back the trappings of the burrito & was struck by a smell so awe-inspiring that it took me through time itself. This bean burrito was familiar, something of my childhood that I never thought to taste again. It was how food used to be, before the great pause. Thick red sauce, actual beans not watered down to be made cheapened. The cheese oozed liked golden magma from a grand caldera. I took but a bite, & I must say it was the finest burrito I ever had the pleasure of consuming. I left the taco to the side, I could spoil myself no longer, and all good things come to those who wait. I shall revel in the leftovers by dawns light. Such a deal this was, I had gotten so much, for so little coin. The 9 dollar dish gave me complete satisfaction & much more to enjoy at a later time, before another adventure. I give you 5 out of 5 stars, Del taco on Hillman! You are deserving a statue & treasures for such...
Read moreThis place has really gone downhill, badly. Stay away from here unless you want to spend almost 40 minutes in their non moving drive thru line. It was 20 minutes before my order was even taken, and when I finally had my order taken the girl on the speaker was rude and literally cut me off with the total in the middle of me trying to order!!! I told her I was not done ordering and she repeated the total to me and told me to pull up to the window!! Every car in the drive thru line had to wait at least 20-30 minutes from the time they ordered to the time they finally received their order. This is completely ridiculous! What's the point of a fast food drive thru if you gotta wait longer than you would at a sit down restaurant. And nope, I'm not being a Karen, I've been in the food service industry for 15 years and I am a manager. This is completely unacceptable service and attitude...
Read moreOK, it’s fast food so I’m not gonna give it a lot of stars. Not many fast food places can keep their restaurant clean keep the employees happy and the food good all at the same time. Even with the new minimum wage. Just need to hope you get there a special day. I never go into the restaurants so it’s hard for me to talk about atmosphere unless I’m talking about the inside of my truck. But when I look through the windows, I get a good look at what it looks like inside. The food quality, I usually don’t have any issues since I only order one thing. The classic chicken burrito. Love everything about it, including the amount of cheese against chicken. As well as how they grill the chicken. And to me, it’s only good with a certain amount of mild sauce. The sauce is just taste different. It’s not about the heat. It’s Del taco enjoy some Mexican food. To me better...
