Tokyo Place used to be my absolute favorite, unfortunately, customer service and the food preparation has declined. Do not use their online website to order for pickup. Everything online is at least $4 or more than in store prices. I called in for an order, their automated phone service sent me a text with a link to place a to go order online. This was my first time with this new feature so I called the restaurant back to make sure it was legitimate, eventually I was able to speak to who I assume is the owner, she was was a bit rude, in a hurry, and told me I HAD to use the online ordering system to place my to go order. So I hung up, proceeded to place my order online, as I’m checking out, I see it’s going to be over $40 for a combination pho and one order of shrimp spring rolls. I think to myself this way more expensive than what I usually pay. I was hesitant, but I placed my order. Upon arriving to the restaurant, I picked up a menu to compare their menu prices to what I paid online, and their online prices were at least $4-5 more expensive than what’s listed on the menu. I ask the owner, she became defensive and raised her voice, saying, “everything is expensive now, even in here” so i asked if the menu prices she has listed are incorrect, and she said YES. I’m wondering if she did in fact raise her prices why is she still using menus with outdated prices? Didn’t make sense. After a few minutes another customer walks in, I told her about my experience and she confirmed that the online ordering system is in fact more expensive than if you were to pay at the restaurant. I was upset the owner lied to me. I can understand food being more expensive when using services like door dash and uber eats, but I simply wanted to place a phone order and pick it up myself. I don’t know why I had to pay more. On top of all food being $4-5 more, it website charges a service fee for using it! That’s beyond ridiculous! I get home, begin plating my food and I was disappointed when I noticed the shrimp spring rolls. Usually every roll has a decent amount of protein in it. These rolls I got had ONE shrimp cut in half in each roll. I essentially paid 15 dollars for 3 shrimps. I don’t think I will ever be going back here again. Read moreCalled before going asking if there is a steamed vegetable dish and was told yes (so I went). Afew minutes later I arrived and ordered (told person I just called about a steamed vegetables dish) and then dish suggested/provided was teriyaki bowl with vegetables and rice.
Bowl contained 90% white rice, 9% chicken and 1% vegetables (2 carrot slivers, 1 broccoli florete and 1 piece of cabbage).
What asked “how is everything?” I said “I called about and came for a veggie dish I only received 2 carrot slivers, 1 broccoli florete and 1 piece of cabbage” and was told “that is how the dish comes”

Read moreThe food is authentic, but the restaurant is filthy. I cant imagine what’s lurking in the kitchen. VERY STINGY with the to-go orders and the sauces that come with them. I have to remind them to make the Teriyaki Chicken Bowl like they do when you eat in the restaurant. I have ordered my bowl twice and came home to a dry bowl. So frustrating that you are getting less with to-go for the same price. Why are the sauces you bring to the table free but when we want it added to the to-go order its extra? The food should be the same whether you eat there...
