Starbucks — Restaurant in Tulare

Tuesday 8/17/21 at 6:22 am I went to this Starbucks & it definitely reminded me why I drive to Visalia for coffee when I live in Tulare. I was in the drive-thru, placed my order & went to the window. Now at the window everything is normal until I ask for a side of sweet cream because my coffee was still bitter. Now I’ve never paid for a side of cream or for a bad drink to be replaced at the Visalia Starbucks stores but this Tulare site (Prosperity) wanted a $1 for cream, about a 1/4 cup. I said I’ve never been charged before & the young female cashier (possibly new) didn’t know how to respond, so Jasmine (manager, maybe) asks what the problem is, I tell her, she said that’s policy, I told her even at this site I’ve never paid for cream, she just kept saying if you want it it’s $1 do you want it or not, I told her that they should start operating like the Visalia sites & I should Yelp them, this Jasmine actually said go for it & don’t forget to google review us too.. what a professional manager you have at this place & she must not care about her job or the Starbucks reputation. The next day I went back to my usual Visalia site & wasn’t charged a penny for extra sweet cream. Good job Visalia 👍 Boo to all Tulare locations, especially the Prosperity site...

Friendly upbeat place. Relaxing right away. Happy people compared to 6 miles up the road. Had to convince barista (just a little) to search around for an open bag of coffee so I took away a star. I hate wasting a whole bag for a pour over. It was the Cielo-Guatemala, not as good as I remember or maybe the water needs to be hotter for this one. Family atmosphere with boyfriend chatting and laughing enjoying lunch at counter. Baristas were singing when I came in and people aren’t afraid to exist. Some chatty teacher over there, solo frustrated man (instead of token guy in corner using free WiFi), and of course us (employ your own adjectives). Clean. Easy access, but busy parking lot. Outlets at bench tables. Small. One -almost a nook, but no outlets over there. Wonderful music, mostly because the radio in this area totally SUCKS. The rain has stopped, but I think it’ll begin again. Yesterday we ended up on cemetery tour because it just was... I wonder what today will bring. Tomorrow $$ so the tour will head into fast motion and reviews...

I'm usually a pretty happy customer with this location, but not today. Placed a mobile order at 11:44am, arrived 20 minutes later to see its been made, but is sitting on a counter being ignored, left to die and get hot, while an employee is frantically trying to make others. All the while I'm standing there, staring at my now room temp drinks, just wondering why the other employee has not walked over to check that the mobile pick ups, that are completely made and ready, have not been called out to see if their owners are there. Then when I point out my drinks, THAT ARE READY, said employee who's just standing there, proceeds to look annoyed that I asked for my drinks and grabs them and tosses them to me at the counter, after throwing a sassy eyeroll at me. Never says "Oh here you go. I'm sorry about that." Or anything! Just mad that I asked for my drinks I paid for!!
