I rarely get to dine out, yesterday was my opportunity to treat myself. I stopped at 41st & Garnet so excited and hungry to get a good bacon cheese burger and fries. The staff was friendly. I was seated right away, my server prompt and very sweet. I took a few minutes to read the menu but ordered what I came for. The Bacon Cheese Burger and fries with a Dr. Pepper. They were not very busy, maybe 25% capacity. It took longer than I thought it would. I was disappointed right away when I pulled my silverware out and found a very visible dirty knife, I had asked Monica for a knife to cut my burger when she brought my food, (unaware of the knife in my silverware pouch) it didn't come. No big problem she had more than 1 table sat at the same time. However I waited. About 5 minutes so far, another employee asked if I needed anything to wit I said " yes may I please have clean silver ware" and showed this person my first set that was visibly dirty. She took them and quickly brought me another pouch of silverware and walked away. I pulled out the fork and again a very visibly dirty knife. Now I have waited more than 10 minutes. My server stopped by to check on me and I pulled out my silverware and gave it to her and again asked her for a knife to spread mayo and cut my burger. She quickly went to get clean silverware and brought it back to me. I told her I did not hold it against her for the long wait and dirty silverware. So I pulled out the clean knife (very shinny was great) I grabbed the mayo to spread on the bun, there was to other food in my mayo. A carrot and I don't know cabbage or maybe lettuce I was not going to focus on which one it was it didn't matter it didn't belong in my little thing of mayo. I was hungry and really wanted to bite into my burger, I looked around for Monica to ask for mayo and didn't see her anywhere. So I gave up on that. I cut my burger and took a bite it was not really cold nor was it hot at all as I had waited for clean silverware to long. My fries by this time of course were very cold. I ate a few fries and part of the first half of my bacon cheese burger with out mayo or any other condiments. It was not good at all. Monica stopped again to bring me another Dr. Pepper and drop the check. She was so sweet apologized for the silverware and let me know she would be my cashier. I asked for one of those Sizzling Carmel Apple and ice cream things. It came a little bit longer than I expected it would but ok at least it was hot. Unfortunately it was not great it was not bad just not great really very ordinary no real visible Carmel in, on, or around the apples or ice cream. I will not return to Applebee's anywhere. My biggest problem with this experience is not just my silverware or mayo with extras it is that no one pulled the bucket of silverware pouches from the door and there was nothing said to management. I am sure of this because I watched and waited to see a manager of some kind, I worked in this industry for a long time so I have a clue about how it works. I did not want a free meal or a big deal to be brought out I just wanted to see somebody do something to make sure other people would not have to eat with dirty silverware. I am disgusted and frankly completely grossed out by this. It will be a long time before I will want or trust to dine out again. No body does a good job anymore rarely ever see people how care to do a good job anywhere anymore.
I would not recommend anything from that place ever and Applebee's won't be a place I will tell people to visit....
Read moreCame here on a Friday night there were about 3 other tables 2 of them had party of 2 ppl and the other 1 table had a party of 4 and we waited to be sat for about 7 minutes then we waited and waited and waited for someone to come take our order. We waited about 45 -50 minutes before I managed to flag down a waiter, he was not our waiter but he was kind enough to take our order and was very apologetic for us having to wait so long. As we were waiting on our food to come about 40 minutes into waiting the other 2 parties left with only our table and 1 more party of 2 remaining excluding the few people at the bar area a older family came in waited to be seated for about 10 minutes before another waiter went up to them and Said they were super busy they can't be seated they would have to go else where. It was not close to closing time it was about 2 1/2 hours before closing time. The man asked to speak to a manager and the waiter came back saying the manager said she was cutting onions and won't be available to talk to them for a while......I couldn't believe what I was hearing! Our food FINALLY came 45 minutes later AFTER we ordered it. Again the young man waiter was very apologetic he was very nice and did the best he could with the circumstances of the management having inadequate amount of staff, the kitchen taking FOREVER to make the meals. ( I forgot to mention. The party of 2 got tired of waiting to pay the bill they finally just got up and walked out) the manager allowing a waiter to refuse service because they claim they couldn't take anymore customers..keep in mind there were a total of 7 customers that sat in dining area at this point 3 of them were myself and 2 in my party... and about 5 at the bar not ordering food just drinks. We were there a total of close to 3 hours we had to wait another 30 minutes before I had to ask for the bill... we were there a total of almost 3 hours when it should of been a hour or less like most restaurants.. I will say the food was good but not...
Read moreThis was a rough one. To start the restaurant was very slow, but two other couples and ourselves were left awkwardly waiting a long time for a seat while the bartender went hunting for Tracy (who turned out to be the General Manager) to seat us. Once found, Tracy promptly sat us and explained all the specials. The two other couples, one seated before us and one after us, both had servers arrive within a reasonable about of time, while we were left unattended. After 10 minutes a server passed by and asked if we had been helped, no waters or anything st this point, to which we responded no, she kept walking and never returned. Tracy stopped near the front, close to where we were to wash a table, so I asked if he could come to our table. I mentioned we had now been there 20 minutes and had received to service, water, acknowledgement and he stated “Yes, I know you have been ignored.” Then proceeded to rather abruptly toss his wash cloth back into the bucket and ask us what we would like to drink. If he knew we had been “ignored” why had he not come to help us?? We asked for two waters and Boneless Buffalo wings. The waters arrived shortly there after. The table seated after us has now received their entire meal. We continued to wait a while and then another server, Miranda, walked past and asked if we had a server? To which we responded no. She quickly apologized and took our food order. When she a few minutes later said our food would be out shortly, we asked about our wings, she checked and said Tracy had never put the order in so she would expedite it. We declined and just waited for our burgers. All this to say, Miranda was terrific and did her best to cover the tracks of Tracy’s misgivings time and time again. As the General Manager, his tact, leadership and example of service is highly lacking. I would not recommend this Applebees until someone with a greater sense and appreciation of their role as a leader is...
