Bo's Boba — Restaurant in Tulsa

Typically I don’t write any negative reviews. However, I want to save you from a bad experience- no milk tea or boba should be this bad. I ordered the strawberry milk tea. Which in my head could not possibly ever be made bad because strawberries and milk are delicious. I also heard it was the most popular drink there, alongside another, so I definitely thought it was a safe choice. It was not the best way to describe the taste would be, plastic, perfume, chemical, not milky at all, watery, and no fruit flavor that resembles strawberry at all. To be honest, it was closer to a nasty artifical pineapple, if not for the red color that obviously made it strawberry. The clerk was rude from when I got in there, and didn’t smile, was very short and choppy with me, and any questions I had he was very un knowledgeable. Which sure he may have been new so I gave him the benefit of the doubt. I like the atmosphere, it was lovely inside and very calming. The bathrooms are closed to the public, and they make a big display about that on their windows, and once you enter the restaurant. Overall, it seems like the owners have a very stingy vibe- And very unfriendly staff. He clearly hated his job and wanted you to know it too. Now, obviously, I’ve only had one tea, and one worker that I’ve come into contact with. And this was only one visit. So I’m not saying that they don’t have other tees that might be worth a try. But overall, I think this was a terrible experience for me and I will not be returning just because it was so bad. I didn’t know you could make tea bad. I threw it in the trash after two sips. The first being an excited sip, the second being was that really that bad? The clerk disappeared to the back as fast as he could, so I couldn’t really comment or talk to him about it. In response to the owners comment on my review:

I was never an employee at your establishment, nor am I employed by a competitor. In fact, I was not living in the same area until recently. To make these claims in response to an honest review of my experience as a guest,, and to create a lie about having previously employed me,, says more about your companies work ethic and pride than anything I could say.

So here is my reasoning for the review.

The drink I ordered was okay, there was little ice and parts of my tea were still lukewarm. This isn't completely unexpected, seeing as the boba and tea may have been warm, but it was still unpleasant when expecting and paying for an iced drink. The flavor was balanced in my drink, but the drink that my friend ordered was overly sweetened (yes, they did correctly communicate what percentage of sweetness they desired). This resulted in a gracious 4-star review.

As far as service and atmosphere, I gave this location 2 stars. The employee who took our order was unprofessional in their communication and knowledge about the products. They were also lacking in hygienic upkeep, specifically a concern when dealing with food. This led the third member of our party to not order anything at all. The lavender lemonade is soo good. It equals out the sour that You’d usually be tasting for regular lemonade, but with the lavender there isn’t a sour to it. It’s balances it out to where luckily the taste isn’t bad, but it’s good. (If that makes any sense) the water inside the drink helps lower the sourness is what I mean. Not too watery or too sour. Anyway, I’ve been a customer since they’ve opened up. They are great people, the staff is great! And the drinks are delicious. If you’re a first time buyer, just know if they recommend something that you think may sound good but it isn’t, don’t let that one drink stop you from coming. Come back and try the different flavors that they have. You won’t regret it.

They also have free WiFi if you ever want to go inside and do some homework/work in there.
