C'est Bon – A Whole Vibe from Start to Finish
My friends and I (hey Ladies!) went to C’est Bon to celebrate my job transition, and babyyy—it was an experience. Let me break it down for you:
Drinks
Let’s start with the drinks. That bartender? Makes cocktails like he’s mixing them for himself. You can taste the intention. I had the Hot Boy—10/10, no notes. Order it.
Appetizers
Boudin Balls – Crunchy on the outside, rich and savory on the inside. Comes four to an order, and they disappear fast. 8.5/10
Who Dat Eggrolls – Crawfish, cheese, and a sauce you’ll be tempted to sip. Pure Louisiana love in an eggroll. 9/10
NOLA Fries (forgive me if I got the name wrong) – But whatever they’re called, ORDER THEM. No, really. 10/10
Entrées
HWY 23 Catfish Plate – My friend got it blackened, I got it fried. Both versions are served on dirty rice with a crawfish cream sauce. Leftovers hit just as hard the next day. 10/10
Angel Hair Pasta with Fried Shrimp – That sauce? Creamy, cheesy, seasoned perfectly. I almost ordered extra shrimp just off the strength of one bite. 9/10
Shrimp Stew – A hearty, tomato-based comfort dish with sausage, potatoes, shrimp, and the holy trinity over rice. Perfect for a cozy night. Add a slice of cornbread and thank me later. 7.5/10
Dessert
Now, the pièce de résistance: Cheesecake with Sweet Potato Compote – I’m not gonna say too much… but I will say I’m pulling up after work to grab another slice (or two). 100/10
Atmosphere & Service
The vibe? Warm, welcoming, and just the kind of energy you want when you're out with good people. A special shoutout to Kenesha Daniels , the sweetest front-of-house rep—she gave fantastic menu suggestions and really took care of us.
Final Verdict: Whether it’s date night, girls’ night, or just vibing with your crew, C’est Bon hits every time. Amazing food, strong drinks, and even stronger community vibes. Support local—go...
Read moreI was excited about visiting this new Louisiana Creole Restaurant. This is a self-service type restaurant where you order at the counter and you pre-give a tip, but you are not being serviced. Everything for our party came out in to-go boxes, and you received a buzzer to alert you to go to the counter to pick it up. The prices are comparative to Nola, but the value isn't quite there. This is a one note meal, no veggies or salad to go with it. There was no cayenne pepper or additional seasoning except for salt, pepper, and Louisiana hot sauce at the tables. It had the right look, but the food lacked the robust flavor that I was looking for and Louisianais known for. The ladies eating behind us said the cornbread was good, but it doesn't come with every meal. So, I went to the register and asked for the cost, and I was told $2. But when they rung it up, it was $3.26. Not only that, but my piece was half the size as the ones I had seen coming out previously. It was decorated nicely, some staff was friendly. However, the food lacked flavor. This was a soft opening, so there are definitely kinks they need to work out to have consistent repeat customers. I am unsure if I will give it another shot. For just my meal, boudain balls, cornbread, and the tip cost me over $50. Try it if you are not familiar with Louisiana cuisine or don't like spice, then you may love it. But, all my Louisiana people, you have...
Read moreI happened to drive by this spot during my lunch break and decided to stop in and give it a try. The atmosphere was pleasant, and the young lady at the front counter was very friendly and helpful. I ordered the catfish platter, which included three fish strips, a generous portion of fries, and a piece of honey cornbread. This was a to-go order.
Once I returned to work and opened the container, I was immediately disappointed by the overcooked cornbread. I tasted the fish; it lacked seasoning altogether and had a scorched oil flavor. The fries, which were clearly from a frozen bag, were also overcooked; dry, hard, and unseasoned. The cornbread tasted like doctored-up Jiffy mix, with bits of jalapeño and small pieces of an unidentifiable hard orange substance, topped with a honey glaze.
Included in the bag were three packets of hot sauce, but no napkins or utensils, which added to the overall inconvenience.
Unfortunately, I did not enjoy my meal and don’t plan to return. I typically don’t leave reviews, whether good or bad, but this experience left me disappointed enough to share. That said, I do sincerely wish this new establishment the best of luck as they continue to grow...
