I ran out of characters to vent my frustration on the online feedback form at your website so I'm finishing that here.
We just had the worse experience of our life tonight with this location and with Scott. Having gotten a half-birthday reward in an email, we decided to have Cheddar's tonight. Boy was that a mistake. First, despite getting the email on the second of this month, the coupon code for the free dessert with purchase of an adult entree, was invalid. How, you ask? No idea as it hadn't been 14 days and should not have expired. So, to see what could be done, I call the restaurant and Scott picks up, I tell him I have a half-birthday reward that is coming up as expired for my mobile order and he says just bring it in and we will honor it. Then hangs up. So, I order the dessert in the app and bring a print out of the email for Scott. When I get there, Scott says, he can't do anything because we have already paid for it. Why didn't you say that before hanging up, Scott! We did everything on our side for that coupon to work, it was only valid with an adult entree, so we would have to buy an adult entree to make it valid. I'm not going to order one section of my meal then arrive at the restaurant and order the other one with Scott. While my first order gets cold and I wait for the next. That's not logical. So, finally Scott snarks that if we bring it back, he'll honor it and we go, it will be expired because it's been 15 days. He says he'll still honor it. I think he's lying. We go to leave with our order and then remember that we didn't check the order yet because you have to do that nowadays because the incompetence is high. And lo and behold, an entire entree is missing. So, we turn back around and go back to curbside and call the restaurant...Scott picks up. We tell him we are missing a whole entree, he says well are you going to come in. No, Scott! That's not how this works, how in the world did you get hired?! He comes out to us, and snatches the receipt and stalks off. And because he didn't ask any questions, like what entree is missing? He DOESN'T KNOW what entree is missing! So even though we have ordered take-out/curbside, we have had to enter the restaurant two times. Because one of us has to go in and tell him what's missing. Because we took the other receipt in, Scott, the lovely man that he is, snatches that out of our hands too. And, now, the exact situation that would have occurred if we had brought the coupon and ordered at the restaurant is happening now. Our original order of food is cold and the ice cream of our dessert is melted. And we are pissed. Cheddar's used to be good. This Cheddar's has gone downhill. If I could go back in time, I would use it to stop us from ordering from here. Not only was there a lack of communication with us in how to get the coupon to work and the best way to make sure we get our reward, there was an ENTIRE entree missing from our order. Is it so hard to check and make sure everything is there?! Restaurants need to stop pushing timeliness over the ability to do their jobs. I shouldn't have to check my order every freaking time. I should be able to trust that you guys can do the job that we pay and/or tip you to do. And if Scott is in a management position, then you should demote him immediately because he is terrible at customer service. And you do not want him to teach the people under him to be as horrific as him at their jobs. Training him better would be a great idea, remedial lessons would probably be an even better idea. Hell, I would prefer he be fired but if you think he somehow deserves a second chance then demotion is probably the best option.
Also, WAY TOO MUCH pepper is happening on your steak...
Read moreCheddar's used to be our go-to when we lived in Norman. We visited the Tulsa location a year ago and had a pretty poor experience. Tulsa has a ton of great food options so it took us a year to give it another try, despite regular cravings for their croissants. Well.. it started off immediately with the croissants. I guess they give them out as soon as you get there now. Would be awesome, but.. they were not fit as actual food. They were so overcooked and dry that they turned to powder when you touched them. I took a photo, but things got much worse so I have a better photo to share. It took kind of a long time to get our salad, which would've been fine had our food not come out immediately after. Food was cold when it came, then had to sit while we ate our salad. We don't complain much. We just planned to take it to go. Here's where the fun begins. We had already told our server that we would take containers, drinks, and a cocktail sauce to go. 18 minutes go by without seeing our server and many failed attempts to get the attention of anyone that worked there. Finally, I go to the host station, where there are several workers and tell one of them. Instead of saying, "lemme grab that for you real quick" she says she'll find our server. 12 minutes later, we see our server dealing with another table, and then she walks right past us. 😳 I get her attention. And as we're waiting for her to return again, I notice something in my best friend's glass. I ask if she had chewing gum. She immediately panics noticing I'm staring at the glass of Dr. Pepper she just finished off. I tell her not to freak out and start emptying her ice into my cup.. The waitress has returned and is watching all of this unfold. . There was brown snotty sludge embedded in one of the ice cubes. Even worse, it had began melting so she most definitely had ingested some. The waitress stares blankly and asks if there's anything else we need.. I ask for a manager. He takes the ice cube and starts breaking it apart, playing with the mush trying to figure out what it is. He apologized, but that was it. Not an offer to comp the drinks, or anything. Meanwhile, my best friend is turning green. We made it about a mile before we had to pull over for her to throw up. Thanks, Cheddars.
TL;DR 71st Street Cheddar's has poor service and sludge embedded in their ice. Eat...
Read moreOnce we arrived I quickly remembered I had been there before and just like the last time it still was a filthy mess Everywhere. The hostess was put out that we even came in as we interrupted her flirting session that was much more important than seating us. We informed another employee of her behavior and he cut us off and stated he had just witnessed her being rude to another guest. Then Mike the manager came over and said he was sorry about how rude she was and stated that certainly is not how they would like their guests to be treated and asked if there was anything he could do to make our experience a better one. Well it's not my job to instruct you Mike on how to rectify such situations and of course we're just going to say no, but you Mike should bring out your A game and perhaps have your own way of showing the guests who have been mistreated and your fellow associates witnessing such poor customer service or complete lãck there of and offer what you can without asking....why even come to the table. Then our waitress didn't get the memo that the hostess was a poor example of how to treat the guests and picked up right where she left off and acted just as put out as the hostess was with having to seat us and was annoyed throughout our entire dinner and loved rolling her eyes and putting on a fake smile just to roll her eyes and walk away everytime she passed our table. Annoyed we needed more than one napkin with our butter croissants and ribs rolling her eyes when we gad to ask not once, not twice, but three times. Then there was the womens restroom where a stall was filled to the top with junk, extra trash cans anc buckets for kitchen and the entire floors leading too where just messy messy messy. Our little was excited about her birthday and when she told the manager it was her birthday we were told they don't do anything special for that and she was bummed, but kept her chin up telling another manager and a piece of cake was brought to the table and her feelings were hurt because they didn't even say Happy Birthday to her, but some guests heard her and they sang to her. Will never go to Cheddars again. Oh by tge way that rag laid on the floor our entire visit, the associate's have a motto not to lift a finger period when it...
