Update in response to Ike's comment on my post: You may not have had coneys 25-30 years ago, but you had chili. Either this isn't the original Ike's I used to eat or the recipe has changed. I noticed in the reviews that, apparently, I'm not alone in my opinion. Best wishes. DISCLAIMER: I'm honored to be a Top 10 Reviewer for Google. REVIEW: Hadn't been to Ike's in probably 25-30 years and was looking forward to eating there again. Very disappointed. The Chili on the coneys was horrible and the weiner was about the size of a pencil. The service was so-so for we had to request drink refills even though our server walked past our table several times. Plus, there were cobwebs hanging on the walls up by the ceiling, which wasn't very appetizing. In addition it cost almost $30 with tip for the two of us to each have 3 coneys, chips and a soft drink. Sad to say we couldn't eat hardly any of our lunches because it tasted so horrible so, therefore, we will probably never return or recommend this once...
Read moreSo I have been told by facebook, my coworkers, news about Ikes chilly and even friends who have lived here there whole life however this is world's famous award winning chilly? I just do not see famous chilly at all it just looked like me and my partner went to Walmart and brought the basic ingredients for skyline chili. I also noticed the table has all kinds of spices, sauces and that told me this was not going to be good. You should not have to add all kinds of extra to make it good when it should come good right away especially when they say its the best. The chilly has no flavor at all and I kept trying to find the flavor it was just not there. If it used to be good that day is over in my opinion. With that said are waitress was amazing super pleasant to be around and very attentive. I want to be clear I did not have a bad time just disappointed is all. The dessert cherry cobbler I had and blackberry cobbler my partner had was good...
Read moreWe love historic restaurants, so we decided to check out Ike's, since it it the oldest restaurant in Oklahoma. Ike's made its name with chili, I ordered a double of straight chili. I wanted the original Ike's experience. Since the recipe is historic, I don't want to judge it too harshly, but to my modern palette, it was not very good. As it came from the kitchen, it was so bland and flavorless that it wasn't worth eating. There are containers of hot sauce, chili powder, red pepper flakes, salt and black pepper available on the counter. After a liberal dosing of all of them, it was okay-ish. The history of the restaurant is neat, the atmosphere is definitely that of an old local diner and the staff was friendly. Next time, I think I'll go with a burger instead. My wife says hers was...
