There is a place - somewhere near the edge of normal and yet just on this side of the strange - where anyone can go and feel welcomed. While it doesn't ever say that it is the most amazing bar in Tulsa, you can absolutely amazing bar low key feel it. In fact, this bar is kind of weird. It's the vibes, they are just vibing so much it becomes a feeling - kinda like that feeling you got climbing up the rope in gym class... it's a weird feeling in a good way. In fact, it's a sensation you may want to experience again. ...and you can!
The Starlite Bar is that amazing sensation. You feel it as soon as you clear the front door. The ambiance is exceptional and appealing, and the bartenders are fun and engaging. Want to sit at the bar with a drink quietly? Can do, and if you'd like to strike up a conversation with some of the regulars, you'll find them engaging as well. The owners enjoy what they do at The Starlite Bar, so feel free to catch the many theme nights they provide - and yes you may find some themes draped in the darker colors but its understandable, star light is only the brightest in the darkest of night. You'll catch disco nights, movie nights, and dressing up for the theme is just something fun to do. Or just hang out and watch it. It's weird. It's super cool.
For me, I enjoy holding a business happy hour at The Starlite. The back corner booth is made for kicking back after a hard day in the office, and if you have out of town associates - well, the best way to impress them is to show them one of the absolute coolest bars in Tulsa and that's The Starlite. It's what it's always been. Low key awesome experience. Low key amazing bar. It's like they don't even have to try... that's how...
Read moreFavorite bar in Tulsa. So glad its my Neighborhood pub. There are fancier places, there are dive-ier dives. The Starlite has delicious featured drinks, a cozy "can't tell if its 11am or 11pm" atmosphere inside, friendly staff, and a bangin' classic alternative/goth/new wave soundtrack. Lots of weird, friendly folks in there, so there's always a good conversation to be had. And, no joke, Lynn (half of the ownership team known as Robb&Lynn, ... pronounced quickly like a single word or a sneeze) gets invited to do mixology competition stuff at Philbrook's fancy shmancy fundraising gala against the bougie cocktail bars and high end restaurants in town. Their drinks menu is LEGIT and you don't have to wait for a special occasion to afford a night out. You can dress up if you want to, but I recommend goth or club kid attire rather than anything normal and boring. Check them out. You'll be...
Read moreI used to enjoy coming to the Starlite pre-pandemic. Our friend chose this place last night to meet up for his birthday and we felt comfortable venturing out since there was outdoor seating. My husband and I walked in to order a drink and were refused service unless we paid a membership fee. For those of you that have been here before, this is laughable. This is a cute place but not membership worthy. They only had 13 customers and about 1/2 were with the birthday party. How will this place survive refusing service right out of the gate?! Very poor customer service. Not friendly. You would have thought that we were dregs off the street the way we were treated. Our friend went in to “put in a good word for us”. This shouldn’t be necessary. The money wasn’t even the issue at that point. It became principal and an appropriate response to the poor reception to refuse to purchase...
