Mom's Family Diner (on yale) — Restaurant in Tulsa

Came here to eat for the 1st time with my aunt on a Monday evening after being discharged from a hospital stay at St Francis down the road. It wasn’t very busy, we got seated quickly, got our drinks quickly, food came right after. Our waitress was awesome (thank you Dani!! Hope that’s how it’s spelled). She was very nice, accommodating, attentive and fast. Made sure our drinks were filled and that we had everything we needed.

Ordered onion rings as an appetizer and holy crap them things were big and delicious. I didn’t care if they were piping hot, I was willing to take that risk 😂 my aunt got French toast w bacon which she loved and looked good to me. I got the chicken fried steak w mashed potatoes n gravy, green beans and a roll. Everything was fresh and steaming. I was able to down some more onion rings while the food was cooling. The roll was big, soft and warm. The chicken fried steak was gigantic, mashed potatoes were perfect, the gravy tasted amazing. The green beans had lil bits of bacon and onions mixed in (how I like it). Everything was so so so good. Seriously y’all, I destroyed my plate and almost made my stomach explode I was so determined to eat it all. Shout out to whoever cooked the food too!!

The whole experience from the waitress to the food made my whole day and week so much better after being cooped up in the hospital for several days. I had lost weight as well due to my health issue and this meal revived my whole dang body and soul. Promise I’ll be back!!! P.S. pics don’t do the food justice, it’s bigger in person. I came in with my aunt for lunch before an appointment. We were seated and served fairly quickly. The waitress was pretty nice . We both ended up ordering Pattie melts . The sandwich was bland and kind of dry, it came with packets of mustard and mayo which is kind of off putting especially for the price we were paying.

After eating half my sandwich and a few fries I asked for a to- go box. As I was putting my fries in the box I discovered IT…. a STRAND OF HAIR stuck to the plate. I am not an overly squeamish person. I looked at it and considered for a moment if it might be my own. It was not, my hair is curly and longer. I looked up at my aunt’s hair wondering if it might be hers - but that made no sense she wasn’t close to me and it still was not the right color ,texture or length. My aunt asked what was wrong and I told her - and that put her off her meal too.

When we told the waitress what happened she took the plate and said she would return with the manager. She never did. After waiting for some time we decided to leave without meeting the manager. My aunt went to the front while I excused myself to the bathroom.

The women’s bathroom was worn down and smelled like urinal cake and city park public bathroom on a warm day ( if you know- you know) to top it all off the slide lock on the door , and the sink counter were sticky.

I’m honestly so disgusted that I will not only avoid this place and all its other locations , I am unlikely to return to the building if another eatery...

Came into Mom's during lunch and honestly, I thought we were going to have to wait to be seated because they were so busy, but we were greeted instantly in a very professional manner and sat right away! Upon being seated in a booth we noticed the ambiance of the restaurant had a very farmhouse feel and made us want to order breakfast! The restaurant itself was very clean and smelt, like bacon. The bathrooms were also very clean and smelled fresh, like roses! I order the breakfast sandwich on Texas toast with 2 eggs cooked over medium with sausage patties and cheese melted to perfection then it was paired, perfectly with home fries that are real and never frozen like at the other diners around! It was honestly the best breakfast sandwich I had ever had and the best breakfast sandwich in Tulsa! Our server was very friendly and kind she seemed to be a true professional, everything came out just how we ordered! Thank you so much to our server Sommer for the great food and Great service! We will definitely make it a tradition to eat here at least...
