I have been a loyal Shogun's customer for over a 17 years. I consisted this my FAVORITE restaurant in Tulsa since I was going add a teenager. I have sat for over an hour waiting for a chef to become available and it was handled with respect and class. I have choked on a fish bone, but understood that is a risk with fish. Today I went with my wife and 17 month old daughter and felt that there was little left of the class and service I had come to expect. It started with the waiter letting us know to let him know what we wanted because the chef is not good with English. Ok, I can understand that. Then tells us only to give our order to him using the numbers next to the items?? Ok that's fine too, odd but fine. After giving out the hot towels and taking our order(filet mignon for me, chicken and fish for her extra order of vegetables) and the other family at the table with us he then tried to give the super hot soup to my daughter. Ok she looks old for her age so I take it away. He then tries to give her a salad. Once again I have to take it away and try to help her understand why she can't play with it. Finally the chef arrives. Seems to speak English fine to me and takes down how everyone wants their food and starts to make it. Fairly normal with the tricks but I'm still ok with that. When it comes time to cut up the vegetables (of which I am paying for extra and the other family is not) a person in the other family says they do not want any onions. The chef says ya that's fine, chops up ALL the vegetables including the extra I was buying giving a big scoop of them to that person and Then cutting up the onions and giving out scoops to everyone else with us last. That means that 3/4ths of them are all onions. When it comes time to have the rest of the food cooked that same person declares that they don't like salt on their food so the chef once again says ok and does not season ANY of the food. When I get my steak it is even bloody and not well done at all meaning I can no longer share my food work my daughter. But that's ok right, after all my wife can share her chicken, right??? Well... after handing out the undercooked steak the chef informs us he had to go and another chef will take over the finishing off the food such as the chicken and so forth. This new person finishes waiting for the chicken to cook and then GIVES MY WIFE'S CHICKEN TO THE OTHER FAMILY. So... now we have to wait for her chicken to be cooked in the back and brought out while the waiter blames the new chef (who says is literally a NEW chef) and the new chef blames the old chef for writing it down upside-down. (BTW I don't care whose fault it is and arguing in front of customers is never good) She finally gets it around the same time as the ice cream (which somehow is half melted) and the waiter again tries to give my daughter ice cream (which she shoves her fingers in) that I then have to take away from her and try to help her understand why she cannot eat the sugary treat instead of the chicken that just got here while she is hungery. Ok, so we just need to calm down and talk to the manager about what has been going on and we can work it or, right? After explaining the above the manager let us know that they would take off the charge for the extra vegetables but the rest is not their fault.... Now 60 for two people (who are sharing their meal with a child) is not going to break the bank, but it is no where near the value I have come to expect when spending that much money. The food also was edible but was very plain at that point. I also am not going to refuse to pay or get into an argument with the manager, but I will not leave a tip for poor service, I WILL share my experience, and I will start looking for a new favorite restaurant. I also made sure to explain (as you can see in the picture) why I was not leaving a tip and was dissatisfied.

Great entertainment watching the chef cook your dinner. Very well trained staff. Definitely a go to place for Japanese food.

PRICEY BUT DELICIOUSLY WORTH IT. The first thing that I noticed about Shogun is that as you walk inside, your olfactory senses are inundated with smells that instantly make your mouth water. Your journey begins in the waiting room as you anxiously wait for the host to seat you. Once seated, they take your order from the menu and serve you drinks. If you order the Dinner, your meal begins with a cup of broth with mushrooms and crispy-fried onions. Next is a lettuce salad with a house dressing that is on the lighter side. As they pick up your salad bowls, the chef begins your main course. Your main course is more of a live show than a preparation as the chef rhythmically clangs his utensils. He spins them around his fingers, twirling them in the air and masterfully juggles them in front of your eyes. Then, that aroma comes back to you once he begins his food prep. He starts with a heaping mound of zucchini and mushrooms. Then he creates a volcano out of a sweet onion that spews forth fire and steam as if it were Pompeii in the dimly lit Italian night. Next is fried rice that is heated to culinary perfection followed by your protein choice(s). I personally ordered the 8 oz. New York Strip with a side of scallops. The steak was as tender as though it was fillet mignon and the scallops were gigantic with one being nearly 3 inches in diameter. Just when you thought you have been fully served, next is a towering mound of bean sprouts. I recommend mixing the sprouts with your fried rice as they bring a necessary salty component to the party that finely balances the savory dish. At this point the movie portion of your evening is complete and you are allowed to enjoy your meal with your company. To round out the meal, you are brought a dish of ice cream. Flavor choices included vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, and rainbow sorbet. Our bill, for two adults and a two year old, topped out at $83.00. With regards to the dining room and the restrooms, both were nicely kept and free of clutter and trash. I noticed that the chef cleaned the stovetop before cooking and again, immediately following his meal presentation. Here’s the breakdown: the flavor of the meal was a perfect 10 out of 10 as it was absolutely delicious; the value of the meal (understanding the cost of beef these days) was a 10 out of 10, and the cleanliness of the restaurant was a clean home-run that scored a 10 out of 10. That’s a perfect score of 30/30 = 100% = an A. If you want a dinner-and-a-movie type of experience that excites and awes the crowd, give Shogun’s a try. I am confident that you won’t be disappointed. Shoguns steakhouse is one of Tulsa's best hibachi restaurants where is the shifts cook directly right at the table and give you a small fire show! I'm going to give it five stars because it does have a maitre d and it is a entertaining restaurant with table-side entertainment. The White staff has always been spot-on and I have never had to ask for any refills on drinks or for any utensils or for anything that was missing during the course of the meal. The serving staff has always been right on top of the needs of the tables.

I have been to Shoguns twice and the food there is of the highest quality so the food quality gets a five-star the entertainment and the chef standing right at the table both times have always been very energetic friendly and informative on the wait until you're preparing the food. The show that they put on is short but sweet and the food is delicious. They are always clean and the utensils are always sanitary.

The menu is a variety of seafood chicken pork beef and they ask you how you want it prepared they have a number of sauces that you can request and a variety of refreshments and drinks after the meal you will receive some ice cream for dessert or some sherbert and you get to choose from strawberry chocolate vanilla and rainbow sherbet.

I normally do not give a restaurant 5 Stars unless the restaurant is completely a five-star service facility in hospitality and all the way around. I am giving Shoguns a five-star because the facility is very quaint and the atmosphere is very inviting and enjoyable. As you enter the lights turned down low you will notice that the maitre d standing there waiting to take your reservation which is definitely needed for Shoguns if you want to get in at a specific time. Shoguns is quite busy and therefore they may be booked for the evening so you want to call ahead and make a reservation.

I'm giving Shoguns Restaurant a 5-star two thumbs up this we say on Tulsa live go get you some...
