THIS IS NOT MY EXPERIENCE, this was posted today in a Tulsa group I follow called Piso’s Tulsa Food Review, if your the owner of this establishment you should definitely reach out to this lady and make it right.
Hoping I don’t get dragged or subjected to Islamophobic comments for this but here we go.
I am Muslim and wear hijab and was wearing full hijab during this interaction. I don’t expect to be treated better than anyone else nor accommodated but I feel like this whole interaction was unwarranted.
I wanted to give HTeaO a try today. I downloaded the app and got a free Huge Tea. I drove over there (66th & Memorial) and the menu outside looked like it was just a menu, not a speaker box. So I drove up to the window.
The young lady at the window was so nice to me. She asked what I ordered and I apologized and said I didn’t realize the menu was a speaker box. She told me to go ahead and order, no worries. So I requested some kind of energy citrus tea listed on their menu online.
She apologized and said that they no longer had that item. I asked what they had that was similar that she could recommend. She said, “I’m not sure” and she turned to the man beside her.
She said, “What do we have that is similar to the energy citrus tea?”
The man looked at me, gave me a very cold look, and with a look of utter repulsion on his face said, “Nothing, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING” and sneered at me & rolled his eyes.
The girl who took my order looked shocked. She turned red and said, “I am so sorry.” I told her it was okay and ordered something else.
I honestly don’t think I have had anyone look at me with that much malice before, especially someone I didn’t know. The girl looked so embarrassed and she apologized to me several times.
I didn’t do anything to provoke this except ask a question, but the look on his face chilled my blood. I didn’t like the drink I got and I’m wanting to go back, but I’m just not sure at this point. I was not rude or anything to him or anyone else and even apologized multiple times...
Read moreLet me recount my entry into HteaO…When I walked through the sliding glass doors I was immediately hit with a curtain of cold air carrying the blended aroma of a basket of tea flavors! I was overwhelmed and paralyzed for 30 seconds which seemed like hours trying to decide where to start my path through the valley of bubbling dispensers holding this liquid nirvana. As I approached to investigate the plethora of flavor options I was elated to see sample cups! I asked the brewer of these magical beverages if samples were limited in number. To my amazement she said no. Well off I went giddy with excitement and my sample cup I was drowned in the nectar of no less than seven tastes. Having settled on a flavor I tossed the sample cup. Just as I was about to commit out of the corner of my eye I see another row of tantalizing flavors! How would I know if I was getting the flavor that would bring my palate the greatest joy? I indulged in more sampling. Now convinced I made the right choice initially I committed to the sweet tea flavor of Georgia Peach. As I departed through the sliding glass doors from which I entered, heaven followed me as I engaged this refreshing beverage keeping me cool from the late day humidity and warm temperature. Thank you HteaO for landing a location in Tulsa. I am forever...
Read moreTeas are good. Place is so very overcrowded!! I had some questions and the teenage boy would interrupt me before I completed my question. And they don't actually have a full menu all year. My child wanted a Blueberry Tea Latte Cold but they don't do Cold Tea Latte's until fall. The teenage boy working the register seemed entirely too occupied flirting with fellow employees to bother with us. He dropped some of our change and it fell between some boxes and the register and he said, "oh well", and walked off. I asked of it was close enough to get happy hour pricing and he said no. The young girl behind me asked and she got happy hour pricing....I'll just make my tea at home.
ETA: I've been a few more times hoping for it to be better. Every time we go it is "2 weeks" until they can do an Iced Blueberry Latte. Was told today they don't start their hot beverage service until Dec 1st. Ummmm, I want an ICED latte. Whatever. 'It is a geographic oddity, 2 weeks from everywhere' Nobilitea will get...
