This was my first time in this Cafe--I always saw it on my way to work and decided to try it out. Very nice interior and the menu looked like it had a good selection. I wasn't too thirsty, so I opted for one of the croissant breakfast sandwiches.
The woman on duty briefly greeted me, rung up my sandwich, asked if i would like it warmed up, and went right back on to her phone; I figured it must have been something important since she didn't speak to me after. I sat down and waited for my sandwich. After a little over 10 mins I noticed I still hadn't been called for my sandwich. The woman was now off her phone and on a computer in the office which is visible to the seating area I was in. I stood up to ask about my sandwich, I noticed beside one of the drinks that the sandwich was on the counter. I asked if that was mine and she looked up, "oh, yeah." I quietly said thank you and left.
I don't know ow how long the sandwich had been there, as I was never told when it was ready. By the time I got it, it was warm, but the cheese had already begun to tighten up and had become rubbery. The eggs were also cooled and rubbery and all of this was surrounded by the croissant. I don't think it was the way it was prepared, but maybe it was a day old, or the fact that it sat made it unenjoyable.
I would have gone to try something else on another day had the customer service been better, but like I said, maybe it was an emergency and that's why I wasn't really treated well. I really hope that was the reason and not some other reason that I choose not to...
Read moreThis was my first visit to Sweet Magnolia. It is a combination restaurant and shop. It was very clean and well kept. They serve a variety of food, mostly breakfast and lunch items. There was a large selection of sandwiches and snack items. They serve hand dipped ice cream, I noticed at least 6 choices. The cookies looked delicious and they had several options. My grandson chose a cone and got a very large scoop of chocolate ice cream. I chose to go with a bowl and also got a very large scoop of confetti cake ice cream. The ice cream is made at a dairy in Oregon and was very good. While we were enjoying our ice cream, I witnessed some extraordinary customer service. A lady came in for the first time and got some ice cream to go. The young lady behind the counter went above and beyond to make every effort to keep her ice cream cold until she got it home. She got an extra cup and put some ice in the bottom and then put her ice cream in there. I was amazed! They had some sweat shirts, t-shirts, earrings and tote bags just to name a few things. They also had bath bombs, pie fillings, candles, etc., they had too many things to list. My only caveat is the lack of sizes and the fact that there were no visible prices on some things. It would be a great place to...
Read moreWe were taking a long drive back home and needed a little pick-me-up. Found Sweet Magnolia, and were pleasantly surprised that they offer alternative milks (we are lactose intolerant)! I also didn’t expect this shop to sell bubble tea, which is one of my favorite beverages. Got their Thai iced tea flavor bubble tea with hemp milk — definitely a new alternative milk choice for me, but it’s pretty good! The tapioca pearls were not fresh or plentiful, but the yummy drink flavor made up for it.
Cute and cozy spot to stop and take a break; comfy seats and nice decorations to look at. Other customers were quietly socializing on the other side of the shop. Small gift and trinket section in front of the cafe counter. If we’re near Olympia again, we will come...
