House of Kabobs — Restaurant in Turlock

Been here twice First thing I'll say is that the food is really good for the most part. Service was good on our first visit, at least considering we had a large party. If that had been my only visit, this review would have easily been 4 or 5 star. But our most recent visit really left a really bad taste in my mouth.

First, they forgot my mother in law's food, and blamed it on the machine not printing her ticket. Second, and even more importantly, they overcharged us for the meal. My wife and I both ordered a plate marked $13. When the check came, they charged us $15. When I confronted the waiter, he said "sorry, those menus are old." It is not my job to keep their menus up to date, and no one should be asked to pay more than the advertised price on the menu. I still paid what they were asking for, but I regret doing that, and this will probably be the last time we eat here. This place is definitely a hole in the wall! I was really craving skewers in modesto. But didn't want to make the drive all the way to Modesto. Well this place is soooooo much BETTER. Service took over an hour and the food was not prepared properly (some overcooked and some extremely undercooked). They brought the wrong drinks for us. The waiter swore that I was mistaken.
