After 20 years they finally raised the price of the 20 piece "chicken" mcnuggets.
Yeah I go to McDonald's. Not very often and not for myself because I really can't eat gluten. But my son likes the sausage egg McMuffin and the chicken Mcnuggets or whatever they call them.
So we go there about once a month. Even the sausage egg McMuffin is mediocre ordered at midnight when you would think they would be making it fresh. I can't remember the last time the food was above lukewarm temperature.
I am not generally a big complainer about the quality of fast food. We all know by now that it's not good for us and barely qualifies as "food." But this last time not only was the food cold, my son said it tasted awful. We just put one piece at a time in the microwave for 6 seconds to warm it up (the least amount of time ANY food spends in a microwave for reheating, the better the results, so if something DOES need to be microwaved we do it in very small batches.) Yes each McNugget came out hot just after 6 seconds but my son said it was nearly inedible. The dog wasn't even interested in "seconds."
Anyway I called to complain and after being put on hold for over 6 minutes. Someone finally came back on the phone. Perhaps he thought I was just trying to get free food and that was not the point of my call. I was over the $6.50 we had spent as well as the gas to get there and back home. I just thought they would appreciate knowing that they were serving cold (ergo OLD) food that McDonald's guidelines say should be pulled from the line and not served -- but the franchisees (especially) ignore these guidelines, this is something I have been told by a friend who owned three McDonald's down south. Otherwise they "couldn't make any money."
Anyway, after the lengthy wait for someone to address my phone call, whoever I talked to essentially told me where I could put it -- he didn't say "where the Sun don't shine" but the tone and inflection of his voice certainly inferred that.
Bottom line: We will not be returning to be McDonald's on Geer Road.
There are fast food places all over town, yet McDonald's is the one with the longest line, other than In and Out.
It's gotten sky high with the minimum wage increase ostensibly to blame. I don't claim to be a cost of goods sold, profit and loss, EBITDA expert but those lines are as long as they've ever been and they are running with a skeleton crew most of the time. I figure within an hour maximum they are bringing in enough cash to take care of the increased labor cost.
If we want prices to go down to an acceptable level, then we just need to stop patronizing these places. One week would send the message loud and clear. In reality, we could probably do it in just one day of fast food abstinence.
The truth is: "We the people" HAVE the power to force prices back down on EVERYTHING but we just don't band together to use our collective power. We. Are....

Today I put in a mobile order at 10:46 am ⌠we arrived in the mobile pick spot at 11:05 am. The app declared that we arrived too late to get our food.
Iâm not sure about your experience with mobile orders is but, usually the food is ready beforehand. Thatâs the purpose of having an app⌠to skip the line/wait. When I asked the staff why my meal was not prepared, and why their mobile app did such a thing, all THREE staff members ignored my questions. They simply chalked it up to âyou will get your money back in 3-10 business daysâ. Thatâs cool and all but it doesnât solve the immediate issue, which is that I ordered 15 minutes ago on the app and it wasnât ready.
It was not only irritating but also frustrating as it didnât solve any customer issues. I just wanted my food. By the third team member, apparently all managers, and 15 minutes later I had been thoroughly enraged. They all reassured me that this was a common issue on the app itself however it took 15 minutes for 3 managers to offer to make my original order. It seems to me if this was a common issue, you would train your staff to offer to order inside and make the food immediately. This could be a result to none of them actually listening to the customers; theyâre just trying to swiftly sweep it under the rug.
By the time the third management offered to take my order inside I was enthralled by rage. This whole excursion made me late for class. Oh and I had to go to get...
Read moreGo to a different McDonalds cause this one will rip you off. After waiting 20-3o mins. For my mobile order I go through the drive through to find out that theyâre manager canceled my order without notifying me. But yet still charge my bank account for the food. I asked her how about just giving me my food and she said I have to pay cash to get it now even though I showed her that it went through on my account. She instructed me to bring my bank statement and they will give me my money back. I went ahead and went with it telling her to bring me my food before I hand over anything to her. I will admit I thought about driving off when she handed the bag of food to me but I didnât. I was trying to be cool about it. I kinda figured theyâll probably hook me up for the screw up. I was wrong they did not. To ad insult to injury the scammed me on my frappe. I ordered a large frappe and they gave me a large cup but the cup was the only large thing about it. I donât know how you can sell someone a large drink and put a frappe in it that would amount to a small frappe. Not only was the frappe small there wasnât much for ice or flavor. I donât think someone could make a more insulting drink and then basically charge them twice for it. That manager I talked to needs to be let go.
I canât believe my experience was so bad that it made me want to cry about it in this long review Iâve wasted my...
