Stopped by Babe's to pick up some treats as I heard it was really delicious.

It's a very cute little coffee shop/cafe. It's nicely designed, and feels very homey. They have doughnuts, fritters, and kolaches, as well as some breakfast and lunch type sandwiches and biscuits.

I stopped in just minutes before close and no one was irritated that I cut it so close, so that's nice. The gentleman who rang me up was quiet but had a pleasant smile.

I got a chocolate glazed doughnut and a Nutella doughnut.

Now, it was a few hours till we ate them - got them around 1 and had them for dessert around 10:30 PM. I think the chocolate glazed doughnut's quality deteriorated quite a bit, as it was rather dry and the chocolate quite hard and flaky. However, the flavors were good and I believe it would have been quite tasty had it been fresher. Mind you, it is a more cakey doughnut, something I prefer. I'm a heathen and I don't like Krispy Kreme at all, so this is a nice alternative.

The Nutella doughnut though. My GOODNESS, it was delicious. I do not ordinarily like any doughnut very much, and only came here based on the great reviews. I loved this doughnut. I will agree with other reviewers and say that it needed a bit more Nutella throughout, as only two or three bites actually had Nutella in them, but honestly, the doughnut was so good I didn't even care that much. Soft, pillowy, just the tiniest bit chewy, with cinnamon sugar on top...y'all. It was awesome.

Go get a Nutella...

I would like to say I had a stellar experience, but I didn't. I would also like to say that I would be back as a customer, but I can't. I came into the store January 29, 2023 and ordered two coffee's two doughnuts and two apple fritter for my wife and I. When I asked if the apple fritter could be heated the guy behind the counter said yes. When I came up to pay for the items he takes a brown sack out of the microwave sitting beside the cash register and throws it on the table and rings everything up. I pay and walk over to one of the tables in the building and open the sack up, there is the apple fritter and my doughnut which did have a hardened coat of chocolate and reeses cups when I ordered it, it is now melted all over the inside of the bag and my apple fritter. At that point I didn't eat the doughnut and threw it away. The fritter was sub par, could have gotten a better one at Publix. The coffee's were scalding hot and over filled to the point if you took the sip lid off any movement at all you were spilling it all over the place. Needless to say I wasn't impressed and the interaction with the staff led me to believe that they had much more important things and the customers were a...

My fiancĆ© and I love Babe’s, it’s really a special treat for us and even more so since we have not visited them since lockdowns in 2020. We went today, Saturday 7/23/2022, to treat ourselves after visiting local Farmer’s Market. I ordered 2 donuts, 2 jalapeƱo and cheese croissant pigs in a blanket(already made), and 1 bacon, egg, and cheese croissant that has to be prepared. The restaurant was not busy, there were 2 ladies and us seated waiting on our orders. Business starts picking up and we have been waiting 20 minutes for the sandwich. One of the ladies that was waiting approaches the counter and asks the clerk about her order which she was already waiting before we came in. The clerk goes to retrieve her order at which this point I approach the counter to ask about my order. He goes to the kitchen and returns to apologize to me and tell me that my sandwich will be the next order worked on. I ask for a refund for the bacon, egg, and cheese and we leave. 20 minutes for one sandwich seems like a long time to wait, especially when it’s not busy. The food is delicious but I recommend getting something pre-made or prepare for a...

Babe’s is always delicious. My family and I have been coming since they opened, I think around 2017. My oldest son loves coming here to see his ā€œDoughnut Friendā€ Rich, who is always so nice. I love their Conecuh Sausage Kolaches and their Southwest Bowl the most but their steak egg and cheese croissant is also delicious. Their doughnuts are top notch. Hard to beat their apple fritters and their blueberry cake doughnuts. My wife loves their maple bacon and cinnamon twists and my oldest son loves the Fruity Pebbles and doughnut holes. I can’t say from experience but I hear their coffees and lattes are pretty great too. Try to catch their seasonal pumpkin doughnut.

We were only in town for the day but, as usual, I had been thorough with my foodie research! It's such a beautiful space & the variety is phenomenal. Not to mention how friendly the guys that worked there were. There were quite a few drink options to choose from (lavender matcha anyone?) as well.šŸ¤—I managed to snag the last two bacon maple doughnuts & I was so happy! I will definitely return if ever I find myself in Tuscaloosa again.šŸ˜

First time coming to this donut shop in Tuscaloosa! I got donut holes, Oreo donut, maple bacon donut, and a jalapeƱo kolache. All the donuts were amazing and my jalapeƱo kolache was so delicious! The person at the cashier could have smiled more but other than that I had a great experience and would come again!
