I’ve eaten at this place a few times. Let me just say this. The food is NEVER consistent! One day it may be ok the next it may be good the next you’re so mad you’re boiling better that the neckbones they serve , which I may add that have to be cut with a steak knife! I can say this and mean it! I wouldn’t eat there again if they told me it was FREE!! I ordered the neckbone plate again , 3rd time was it! Neckbones so tough you need a real steak knife to eat them!!! I don’t understand why ,they are sitting water under a heat lamp all day! Now let’s talk about the vegetables! I guess that they don’t know that there are other vegetables other than the ones they serve everyday!! And fresh ones!My God ! Sticky and sometimes crunchy rice, crunchy cabbage, and I like some firmness to mine , but this is not that. The mashed potatoes sometimes they taste real sometimes they taste like the inside of the box they came from! The PEAS! There are so so many more than the field peas with snaps (canned) how about some fresh blackeyed or crowder or FRESH field peas ! JUST TRY FRESH AND STOP CUTTING CORNERS Green beans 👎🏽 (canned) the brown gravy is definitely NOT HOMEMADE!! It looks almost black! And the cornbread jiffy muffins 👎🏽 The collard greens 👎🏽 the not sweet brown yams 👎🏽the powdered cheese macaroni that runs👎🏽 the fried chicken skin is so tight it doesn’t look fresh just looks like it sits under that heat lamp all day👎🏽the dark meat leg quarter should NOT be dry! I waited for what seemed like eternity for crab legs wings and ranch fries that was definitely not worth it and it was supposed to be “ cooked to order” the crab 🦀 that those legs came from was definitely on Ozempic! I have yet to find a decent piece of meat in the tiny shell! 👎🏽 And the lack of seasoning! 👎🏽It’s nothing like the videos that they show you 👎🏽 Fries were so soggy! And I’ve ordered Ranch Fries from other places that were not👎🏽The supposedly fresh cooked wings were as tough as trying to chew bark from a tree 🌳 👎🏽The cakes that crumble when you try to eat it 👎🏽 And $5 for a cup of KoolAid is diabolical! I’m not sure where some of the food is that they show on the pictures/videos, but I have yet to see it. Flavas you have got the last dime of my money. And to top it off the dazed and confused acting employees taking your order! 👎🏽 And when I complained about my food I was told and I quote “ I don’t know what to tell you!” I do not recommend this place !But since this small town is very limited I guess you can take your chances cook at home eat somewhere else or drive to B’ham! Oh, and the dining room is ALWAYS dirty and floor sticky with that $5 kool aid I guess! $80+ dollars just gone. I would have felt better driving down HWY 20 and just throwing my money out the window! 👎🏽🤬🤢🤮 All the stars that I did give are a -⭐️ Not worth a 1/3 of what...

The food was fantastic, but there was a long wait. There were not a particularly large number of customers in my opinion, but several of the items ran out and created a long line. They have some sort of internal policy to not give refills, and require you to purchase another drink. This was not made apparent to me until I tried to get a refill. The price is very high for a restaurant located in a food court, but most people seem to be getting the food to go. I waited a little bit more than 20 minutes for my plates that did not include anything not on the hot bar. The only item that was out was the whole chicken wings. All together the food was very good, the service existed, the restaurant was not disgusting, but certainly wasn't clean. If you are not in a hurry and don't mind paying a little more them have at it! Also the dining area was hot like the AC wasn't working well. The food was slightly better than King's Kitchen, but I would much prefer to go there.

Update: I went back and the service was much faster. The food was again some of the best you are likely to get around here, but the price was steep. I got a meat, 3 sides and a drink that came out to over $20. They seem to be having more customers than they anticipated which is a good thing, but today the people up front were experienced and fast. I have eaten at the other location several times, but never went on Sunday when they had a similar menu to this location. I love the candied yams, cabbage, and collards. All 3 are the best or right there with the best I have had in Tuscaloosa. I was actually going to get some Pizza, but they were closed, so I got this instead. The food is great, everything else is similar to other mall establishments, but the price is steep. Sometimes you just have to pay for quality.

Another Update! This place is consistent and easily the best meat and three you can get in Tuscaloosa. The food is just flavored more. Everything you get is very good and consistent. The initial opening traffic has died down, but it still takes a little bit to get your food if you are a walk in. Overall I really like this place and reccomend it to almost everyone that asks about a local...

There’s a such thing as TOO much FLAVA! Overseasoning food causes it to be SALTY!!

Fried chicken=salty Okra was not fresh and taste like it had been sitting all day The juice I received was hot. There was barely ice in my cup. Corn was good Baked chicken was good Mash potatoes was bland

I walked out of there with a headache and I’ve never encountered that after eating.

Customer service 2/10

I give 2/10 because the woman who takes the order customer service was superb.

The OWNER however does not have business etiquette and needs to understand that customers are the reason the business is a BUSINESS.

People DO NOT have to patronize this establishment! No one had on hair nets but the woman who takes the order that never touches food!! Meanwhile I had a piece of beard hair in my FOOD! Everyone else is handling food without hair nets. How is this food safety? On top of that the young man who is fixing plates touched his nose with the gloves he had on and went to try to prepare meals again with those same gloves… I TOLD HIM POLITELY TO CHANGE HIS GLOVES! YOU DO NOT HANDLE PEOPLE FOOD TOUCHING YOUR BODY PARTS WHILE GOING BACK TO MAKE PLATES. That’s filthy and disgusting and I will not be back. Very bad experience and regret...
