They say if you want to find a great place to eat, go where the locals eat. This is certainly true about Lee’s Palace, located in Englewood Village Shopping Center (by Winn Dixie) off 69S in Tuscaloosa 35405. They were busy with the after church lunch crowd but handled everyone quickly. I took our order to go and didn’t have a long wait though the mid-sized dining room was filled. I love lemon chicken and had not found it here in Tuscsloosa until now. It was really good so I will definitely order again. Our family also got chicken fried rice, and orange chicken with sticky rice. These were all a big hit with the family. We love Crab Rangoons and agreed these were the best we have ever eaten! Seriously! By the way, the portions were HUGE and we ate leftovers for two days - except for the ragoons. They were devoured immediately! The price for the meal was good. They offer daily lunch specials, Monday through Sunday, and have a lot of tasty options. The food was also very fresh which was a huge plus. The dining area though kind of small was very clean. Highly recommend. Check it out and let me know...
Read moreThe only reason this place doesn't get 5 stars from me is the food. I always order kung Pao chicken when I go to a new-to-me Chinese restaurant. And while Lee Palace has good customer service, prices, and is clean, the food is not too good, in my humble opinion. It SEEMS like the chicken is low quality. It's mushy and gooey, which baffles me. And the Kung Pao Chicken lacks in flavor, especially when compared to Swen, LaiLai, or Mr Chen's. And lastly, KP chicken is usually cooked and served with peanuts. Lee cooked the dish then threw the peanuts on top right before bringing it to the table. Will I eat Lee's again? Probably so. Great location for those down 69 south. The people that work there are friendly. It's a clean restaurant and the price is very reasonable. But you got to step it up on...
Read moreBeen coming here since I was in middle school, maybe high school, and I love it. For the longest I did not know the manager's name, and she has been always so nice and welcoming since we met. She knows my mom loves the Kung Pao Chicken. Today we finally got one another's name and it made my day:) Faye is truly so kindhearted and makes sure everything tastes good, and it does. The restaurant is kept clean, bathroom is clean, employees are nice. I usually get the mandarin vegetables deluxe or the vegetable lo mein, with...
