My wife put in an order at around 11:30am Saturday December 23, 2023 through the app. The order was for three meals to go. Two meals were the bacon temptation omelettes, one with pancakes and the other with hash browns and the third meal was the sampler breakfast plate. Plus she used built up points to purchase 3 extra pancakes.
She arrived to the IHOP restaurant at 12:10pm to receive the order she put in approximately 35 to 40 minutes earlier and to her surprise it’s not ready yet. She waits patiently in the lobby all the way until 1:35pm when they finally bring out the food she ordered.
She checked it over before leaving and it wasn’t complete. One meal was missing. The breakfast sampler plate wasn’t there. She told them and they supposedly started working on cooking the missing food.
She waits all the way until 2:15pm and she finally receives the missing breakfast sampler plate.
Tony I’m assuming is the manager at the Tuscaloosa AL IHOP said she would receive a partial refund, he had to send the receipt to corporate since it was an online / app order. Was not told the amount, so we will wait to see if it shows up in our bank account.
On top of the long wait, we live in Centreville AL and it’s a thirty minute drive home from Tuscaloosa. The longest wait time at this IHOP was about 45 minutes in the past, but not over 2 hours. The strange thing is we’ve seen them even busier in the past and still received our food in a timely manner.
There were other customers complaining of the long wait times as well. Some came back into the lobby after realizing their orders weren’t complete and had to wait for their missing food to be cooked. One customer my wife talked to while she was waiting said he waited 45 minutes for a cup of coffee to go! Must be good coffee to wait that long for! It will be awhile before we will return to this IHOP.
When she arrived home we had to reheat the food and overall the food tasted great, so it wasn’t a complete loss. Basically had an early dinner by the time she got home.
UPDATE: Sunday December 31, 2023. A refund was sent back to the card used, thank you. Happy New...
Read moreI'm giving it a 1 star because you can't give a negative star!!! This was the worst service I ever received. Four friends and I went there after the Jill Scott Concert Saturday August 20, 2016. We were seated fairly quick but the wait for a server to greet was us was 5-10 min. We placed our order and I stated I wanted the Bacon cheeseburger with the scrambled egg on it with NO onions, NO pickles, No tomatoes. My friend ordered the same except she WANTED tomatoes. The server said it was called a Denver burger. We said that's what we want. She came back with the burgers and I stated to her that this is not what I wanted. The sandwich had tomatoes on it in addition to Onions inside the eggs and it had ham instead of bacon. She went to get the menu and I told her that wasn't necessary because I had already stated what I wanted descriptively. She offered to us to see the manager we said yes. The manager NEVER came. The server came back and took our food and had it redone. It took so long, our friends had already eaten their food. We're sitting there watching them eat while we wait. I told her to just put it in a to go box. She brought our food back in the to go box without any fries. I asked where were the fries she said Oh you wanted the fries. I said yes, I paid for the fries. I sent the whole plate back the first time not just the sandwich. I asked to see the manager again!!! Once again, the manager NEVER appeared!!! I love IHOP, but I will NEVER eat at that particular one again. That particular restaurant gives you all a bad reputation!!! I was so upset, disgusted, and disappointed I didn't even eat my food. I gave it to my son when I got home as hungry as I was, I just couldn't eat it. Very Unsatisfied...
Read moreA few weeks ago, I had a bad experience. We tried going again this evening to see if it had gotten better. It definitely wasn't better. We will definitely not be going back.
The experience from a few weeks ago: Our ticket was lost, so it was 50 minutes from when we were seated until our food came out. Many other tables that were sat after us had received their food, eaten, paid, and left before we had our food. How does one lose a ticket? I'm not sure. They blamed the kitchen, but it could have been the server's fault.
This evening we were there a few minutes and someone came to the booth next to ours and told them that the system went down and the orders would be made as soon as possible. A little while later, the servers that were standing back where the food is placed when it's ready to go out were loudly talking about a table walking out. A lady immediately came to our table and said the food would be there soon. I think she was looking for the people that had already left. My food came out soon after that. It wasn't correct, but it was on the table. My friend's food didn't come out for several more minutes. Who serves one person and leaves out the other person at the same table?!?! In case you're wondering, only your restaurant because normal places don't do that.
So, after one bad experience and second bad experience when giving your restaurant another try, we will no longer be eating there. It's a waste of...
