Would give negative dots if possible. Roach motel, seriously. Dirty. Bates' Motel.
First, the two workers in the office that I dealt with were extremely nice. Also, the A/C worked good as well as the TV. That's all of the good.
First, I hate being charged $165 because it's gameday where they usually charge about $60. I hate that all the hotels in town do this. I can't believe it's legal. Now, soooo much nastiness. Soon as we walked into the room a roach ran out from under the bed to under the dresser. I moved the dresser and killed it. Then within a few minutes another roach ran out from under the chair. I proceeded to kill it too. At this point, along with all else we could see, we wanted our money back. Since it was game-day in T-town every hotel is booked and we live 5 hours away. So we chose to endure. After I showered and began drying off with a towel that smelled as if it was washed and used once or twice I noticed a light scratching against my body. I looked and the dang towel had a sticker on it that was a recently used VISITORS PASS FROM THE LOCAL HOSPITAL DATED JUST 2 DAYS BEFORE!. The floor was nasty. The chair was stained and nasty. It's a "Non-Smoking" room but you definitely get choked by the stench of old smoke and nicotine renaissance that lingers in the paint, sheetrock and everything else. Every piece of plastic in the room was heavily stained from the years of cigarette smoke. I know this cause I grew up with everyone in my family smoking except me. So they've changed none of this. Looks terrible. The sink knob was broken. The bath tub was a very old whirlpool tub that no longer worked, not that we wanted to use it. The tub and shower inset looked like years ago it was painted with home latex paint and it was now pealing. The shower curtain was stained yellow and had mold and mildew stains all over it. The shower curtain rod was barely hanging on. I could go on and on.
I was raised very poor by a disabled single mother, living in the project. I've slept in homeless shelters, lived on the street, slept where I could. Thankfully many years later I have been able to end up successful in life. But saying that, this hotel is nearly as bad as anything I've lived or stayed in and I paid a lot of money...
Read moreMy husband reserved a room online through hotels dot com. He checked three times to make sure I would have a non smoking room, but upon arrival, the clerk informed me that I had a smoking room. Severe allergy to smoke makes it so I couldn't stay in a smoking room. The friendly clerk quickly switched me to a new room, without hesitation, and politely apologized for the situation and confusion, even though it was not her fault at all. She was very nice, understanding and very professional. The room was very, very clean! It was a great size and very comfortable. The bed was very comfortable and the pillows were the most comfortable pillows I've ever had the pleasure of putting my head on! The rooms are very quiet: you don't hear your neighbors opening and closing their doors or the TV in the next room, or anything! I had a great night's rest at the Baymont Inn! I got to use the pool, which is very clean, and I had a great breakfast! Honestly, I didn't really want to leave! LOL Upon check out, I expressed my thanks for such a great's night sleep, and how impressed I was at the quietness of the rooms. It was then that she asked, "So, you weren't bothered by the train?" "What TRAIN? You've got to be kidding me! There was a train close to my room?" I couldn't believe it! Normally I am a very light sleeper and wake up at every noise outside......I actually slept as a train went by.....I'm still shocked. The builders of the Baymont Inn did a really good job insulating it from the noise of the train which apparently runs right behind the hotel! All in all, it was a great night's rest and the cleanliness and comfort of the room was very much appreciated. The value we got for our money, is well worth every penny and if we end up in Tuscaloosa Alabama for a track meet again, we will be staying at...
Read moreTerrible Customer Service and Unprofessional Behavior||||I recently had an incredibly disappointing experience at Baymont, Oscar Baxter Road, Tuscaloosa, Al. As a Wyndham Rewards Diamond member for over 10 years, I’ve always valued the brand’s seamless service, but this stay was an exception.||||I booked a room through the Wyndham app and completed the mobile check-in to save time since I would be arriving in the early morning hours. I asked my son to pick up the room key for me, but the manager on duty, Skylar, insisted I had to collect it myself. Even when I sent my wife, who is listed on my account, she was also denied.||||I had to leave an event early and drive to the hotel myself. When I arrived and calmly explained the situation, Skylar dismissed my concerns, refused to acknowledge that the room was already checked in, and insisted on seeing my physical ID and card despite the app instructions showing this wasn’t necessary. She escalated the situation further by falsely accusing me of being rude and threatened to call the police when I simply asked to cancel my reservation.||||This entire ordeal was unnecessarily stressful and unprofessional. When I told Skylar I was a Diamond member, she said, “I don’t care about your member status”. I ended up canceling my stay and going elsewhere, but this experience was completely unacceptable. Wyndham and this hotel should seriously reconsider their training and customer service practices. I cannot recommend this...
