Slim Chickens — Restaurant in Tuscaloosa

Ok soo we were dropping my God-daughter back off at College and before we left we wanted to have lunch with her before he class started. She suggested she knew a place that had (as she described) “the best chicken tenders and Lemonade” so we ended up at a place called “Slim Chicken”. There was 4 of us, to my knowledge all the meals come with 1side toast and a drink!!! soo #1 Slim’s meal (5pc tender w/fries toast and lemonade) #2 Buffalo Tender Mac bowl meal (toast & lemonade #3 Chick’s meal (3pc tender w/ fries toast and lemonade ) lastly #4 Classic meal (4 tenders (2tossed in buffalo sauce and 2tossed in honey bbq)w/ Mac & cheese toast and peach tea lemonade). For our sauce we had garlic parmesan, ranch, honey mustard and honey bbq. All the food was fresh and cooked to order.. we got our food so fast we were still ordering as they were bringing the 1st of our order!!! the chicken tender were seasoned and crispy. The breading was just right. The fries were hot and fresh. The side of Mac and cheese was bland, just noodles and cheese sauce. but the Buffalo tender Mac bowl was delicious. I believe it was the extra shredded cheese green onion mixed with the buffalo chicken that really took the boring basic Mac and cheese up a notch. The lemonade was the best I have ever tasted. Even better than Chick-fil-a!!! Not to mention they had both raspberry and peach tea that I mixed with the lemonade and that was delicious as well. The icing on the cake was the customer service!!! The restaurant was nice and clean. They cleaned behind every customer swiftly. I loved the ambiance. The cashier was really sweet and when I told her it was my 1st time the manager came out to greet us to make sure we received everything we needed!!! I wanted to try this place for a seconed time after good experience, so I ordered an 8 peice wing with sriracha garlic, the suace was good, howevee the wings tasted old and not fresh, so I called the restaurant and told them my issues with the wings the lady over the phone informed me to just bring a receipt upon return, but she didn't say anything about having to bring the food back upon return, so I bring back the receipt to the restaurant as told to do so by the women over the phone, I get there and hand her the receipt, she goes to get the manager, and to my surprise the manger tells me I need the food to process the refund lol...wow, so I drive back to my house in Northport mind you...grab the food...return back to the store on 82, with 10 minutes before they close, amd they tell me there is nothing they can do since the registers are shutdown....well that was serious waste fuel...I've never felt so disrespected and inconvenienced by a restaurant in my life! This place use to be a great place to eat - I ate here twice this week for the benefit of doubt no better the next time . In fact it was quite a bit worse !! This happen to me the first time this week when I ate there the bag was wet and the box was wet and the napkins was wet - really what’s the deal with this ???? Then I was craving the chicken wrap and fried pickles later in the week so I went back and thought I might like that but again they have someone that is taking a water hose and spraying the boxes again . Again this is the bad experience of driving thru and I had had three box lunches the boxes was damp to no end !!! Again they have problem on McFarland . Oh I love bana pudding and the first experience I had one of those deserts it was great but of course new managers come and go and they all three of them I ordered was hot as could be the jars was not even clean on the outside and no banana ‘s not even in one and more than half just cookies .
