Slim Chickens — Restaurant in Tuscaloosa

Food is great! Last night around 8:00pm I had the worst service ever. (Day before around 4:22pm was the best service... Food out to me before I finished getting my drinks ready.) Last night Cashier got the order wrong. When I let her know she corrected me and told me it isn't what I said. (I order Slims Meal and not Classic Meal). Took about 20 mins to get food to me and other customers expressed same aggravation. (People in drive through were leaving also). When food came out it was missing 2 of the Slim Sauces and I let her know and corrected me again telling me I didn't say that (while ordering I told her 4 times that it was 5 sauces total) and by this time I was really getting upset. She called the supervisor out and she asked for my receipt and saw that I was getting real mad by this point and just skipped the receipt and went to get the 2 sauces. By the end my order was finally right, but service was almost the worst I have ever experienced. Slim Chickens is my favorite food (well "fast" food) and I am concerned that service will go downhill. I am still coming back for now, but if I get that horrible service again I'm done. Oh, when Cashier was done with my order she pretty much threw the money at me. I made her slow down so I could count it (gave her $100). Once I counted it she moved to the side to start another order when I hadn't moved yet. ...Mad! Originally, I was headed to Chick-fil-A, but fate (and a packed parking lot) had other plans. Thankfully, the chaos led us to Slim Chickens, and I couldn't be happier it did.

If I had to describe Slim Chickens, I’d say it’s like Zaxby’s… but with actually good food.

I ordered the 3&3 Plate—three chicken tenders and three wings, served with fries and added a side of fried okra. Every bite was spot on. The tenders were perfectly cooked, coated in a light golden brown batter that added just the right amount of crunch without overwhelming the meat. They were, without exaggeration, the juiciest chicken tenders I’ve had in my 54 years. Melt-in-your-mouth tender.

The wings were equally impressive: plump, flavorful, and satisfying. And the fried okra? Crisp, well-seasoned, and downright addictive. Everything was made to order, but it came out fast and piping hot.

The service matched the quality of the food. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience feel even better.

Honestly, I wish there were a Slim Chickens near where I live. If you're looking for fast food that actually tastes fresh and homemade, this place is it. Hands down, the best fast food...

Pros of our visit: -Food was hot -Restaurant was clean

Cons: -We arrived at a non-peak time a little after 4 pm; they weren't that busy. There were 4 tables occupied 2 of which were eating their meals. It still took 22mins to get our meals at a "fast food" restaurant. If it took this long during a non-peak time, I'd hate to know what the wait would be during peak hours. -Some of the staff were friendly and some not. After eating our meal, my wife wanted a milk shake, and I went to the counter to place my order, and a girl behind the counter said do you need to order? To which I replied yes and she rolled her eyes like it killed her to place an order for a milkshake. Another girl took my order, but when I told her I wanted a milk shake, she said their machine was down. -Food was okay; for the price I paid, I was expecting way better.

Needless to say, there is a very slim chance that I will return to any Slim Chickens location if this establishment is any indication of what type of service they offer.
