I had the Carne A sada wet burrito platter. It was good. I've had way better, but those were at sit down restaurants. This is drive through fare. Its good not great. The refried beans were the best thing on the platter. Years ago, Del Taco refried beans tasted like burned beans with a really cheap ketchup put on top. I quit setting their beans because of that. But these beans were much better. The price was what you would expect to pay. It was 7 dollars and dome change. My husband wanted burgers so he ordered two Del burgers. The total price for us came to over 18 dollars. I was shocked. We didn't order anything to drink, so it was way higher than it should have been. But when we got to the pick up window my husband didnt say anything to the guy at the window. Then when we parked and started to eat, my husband said the burgers were good but they seemed to be much more to eat than he remembered . Then he said " when did they start putting 2 patties on the Del burgers?". I said I had no idea. Then I took the receipt and looked at it. The guy taking my husbands order at the drive up put down two DoubleDel burgers @ $4.19 each. No wonder his two burgers were over a dollar more expensive than my platter. I wish I had ordered the shrimp tacos instead. The mix up on my husbands burgers was intentional. My husband said to the guy more than once " 2 Del burgers" and the guy repeated it to him more than once. So to put on the order two much more expensive burgers than what was ordered, is intentional. Maybe these guys at the Del taco have a scheme to do that to people and they get to keep the extra money or something. This had happened to me and other members of my family over and over again at this Del taco. Or you drive away from the window and half the items aren't even in the bag. With me when it happens, I go right back to the drive up and I get it fixed. With the other members of my family, they won't go back and get it fixed. And that is what the people at the store are counting on- the number of people that won't go back and get it fixed. We have even said to ourselves that we won't go there again. And we don't. Sometimes for months. Then we go back again. The service inside is always off putting to me, so I go yo the drive up. Inside, when ever I go in, the people at the counter Always look at me like I'm from another planet or something. I have to Repeat myself over and over to the person before they have it right. I don't know why they are like this. I just tell myself that they all must be autistic . There are several autistic people in my family and extended family and this is how they act and react to others. If they are I applaud the managers for hiring them. If they aren't, then the entire store needs a overhaul of the entire staff of how to do their jobs and act professional at their job. And they never take the people in order of who was there first and who came later. They need to take care of the hap hazard way people are handled at the inside counter. The new building is nice but it doesn't mean better service or better food. They do have good chicken soft tacos. But sometimes those are not well either. The service is always so-so here. And I've come to the Del Taco here for 25 years. Thats with the times we've stopped going for as long as a year, then we go back. I say, go and judge for yourself how well your service and food are. On the whole I...
Read moreI haven't been here for a while, but felt like I should leave a review for when I did go here most of the time (early 2018- late 2019). For a quick bite, it was good enough and cheap enough. The staff there were great, and that was a genuine surprise. Sometimes the food/tacos look rushed and looked liked they were soggy (I hope its just the oil from the beef, but that much oil concerns me). It happened some times but often it would look like a normal taco kept intact. If your gonna get Lunch here just get a burrito, the burgers are just alright and the fries could be better (but in every location I've been to, the fries taste depressing), and the combos with tacos just arent worth it especially with the price unless you get the multiple variety ones then thats worth it. Gets a bit packed when UTT students are there. I do remember this one time apparently Del Taco was tagged (spray painted) and UTT took the blame for it. Apparently the tag had no structure and was slander of some kind. Haven't gone there after I left Tustin. Been 2 years and is...
Read moreUsually I am very happy with Del Taco. However, this evening my daughter and I went to the Del Taco on Red Hill, and I was less than pleased.
First, this Del Taco was having a fundraiser for Tustin High School's band. When we showed the cashier the flyer, she had no idea what it was. When the night manager looked at the flyer, he appeared to have no idea what was going on either. He folded up the flyer and said he would take care of it. He walked away without recording our purchase or explaining to the cashier. We have no idea if the band got credit for our purchase or not!
Second, my grandson's quesadilla had very little cheese and fell apart while he was eating it. Plus, the chips that came with our dinners were so stale, they were almost inedible!
Last, we got 4 Mini Churro Dippers to go after we finished dinner. The ice cream was so runny I drank it like a thin shake!
I sincerely hope that the band got credit for the fundraiser, but I also hope they do not go to this Del Taco for any more fundraisers. Chipotle and Souplantation do a...
