You may think you’ve stumbled upon some hidden secret here at Hole Mole, but the truth is we all know about it, but most choose to not come here quite as often as we’d like because A, the parking sucks, B, when do you get parking inside is worse with people crowding the salsa bar, the line to order is often out the door so enjoying your meal in or to go is hampered. This is a testament to their taco’s.

It’s not Mexican food, it’s a taco shop, they do burritos, tortas, nachos and a few others, but they do not have Mexican dishes, just had helds.

It’s small, multi roomed in a sort of subdued décor. Menu done in a traditional Taiwanese motif. Service is friendly and prompt and the prices are reasonable with a real value coming on Taco Tuesdays.

They do an ensanada style fish taco, the creama fresca and cabbage do not overpower things, but you will notice how noticeably not try the corn tortillas are. The fish almost always hangs out of the taco. The not sauces are that, not salsas. What you will love is the fried peppers. I actually just put lime and eat them with the pepper as they don’t need sauce to saturate it, just heat only. It’s on the better fish taco’s in the county. May not be traditional shark, but they do get the double fry crisp down pat.

Nachos are good, chips are fresh and have medium strength. Carne asada is real mean, not some grey meat chunks shriveled up. They do ceviche which is nice with a beer. The breakfast burrito is noticeably untraditional as they also offer it in a bowl version. The chorizo they use doesn’t have all that grease, eggs are fluffy, more pulled than scrambled. Maybe not quite folded, but anything better than the normal bricks you get is good. The al pastor torta is a personal favorite because you are able to really get more pineapple, salsa to match the meat in the torta than a taco.

Order ahead for lunch and even if you do that on Tuesdays there will be a wait. I suggest going with a friend and having them get in line at the same time you are in line for ordering. Time it so you get fresh fried peppers. I recommend the fish, shrimp, carne asada, al pastor in that order. Taco, taco, burrito, torta,...

My first time actually going to the location, but not the first eating from Hole Mole. I was craving tacos and wanted to grab something nearby that I haven't been to before. Although it didn't quite fit the criteria, the bf has never been so it worked out.

Parking is a nightmare, but luckily people come and go pretty often, so something does open up eventually. I came through for pick up to enjoy at home, so I ordered six fish tacos, two potato tacos and two carne asada tacos, which took about 10-15 minutes.

While waiting, there's a salsa bar, grilled peppers and other condiments to complete the meal. I picked up a variety of salsas, limes, radishes and a ton of those delicious grilled peppers. The spicy levels are really mild and may vary from pepper to pepper, but I love that it adds a nice complement to the tacos.

Taco sizes are like street size, but super affordable. For the amount I brought home, it was roughly $20 and it filled up both of us. I would definitely come through again to try other selections and excited to try them out during Taco Tuesday. I would brave the parking...

Had I written this review a year ago, things would have been a lot different. Great food, fair prices, competent staff. Fast-forward to now, and not only have the quality of service and food dropped, but the prices have skyrocketed. In the span of 1 year, the price of my usual order (pastor burrito, combo with rice/beans/chips/drink, and salsa bar) has risen over 30%, because they no longer offer combos, and now charge for their salsa and chilis, which had always been free.

Add to that, that even if you order online and do your part to social distance and remain as contactless as possible, and pay a 10% service charge so that you can do the already lazy cashier's job for them, they will still force you to wait in line to pick up your food, even if it is ready, and even if there are 4 people and a phone order ahead of you, and all they need to do it reach over and hand you the bag.

I cannot honestly recommend this place anymore due to the astronomical increase in price that is well outside the standard COVID-related increases you are seeing in other places, and the...

We came here be cause it looked like a cheap walkup and we were hungry for Mexican food. I ordered the mama nachos with carnitas, and my husband got the fish tacos because they said that is the best item on the menu. While we waited we saw that there was cute outside seating. Dispute it being busy we found a spot and food came out quick. We liked the fish tacos, but they weren't amazing, just good. The nachos looked great with real cheese, guac, sour cream, beans, Pico and the carnitas. The carnitas were only okay, but the beans were SUPER good. I would get the nachos again, but skip the meat and opt for a taco of some kind instead. Salsa bar was underwhelming, but Pico on the food was fresh and good. Would come again and see what else is good on the menu.

Stopped by this small place while waiting for traffic on the 5 to die down. I got "The Original" taco and I can't tell you how surprised I was. Instead of finely ground hamburger-sized beef, there were large chunks that were incredibly flavorful. The red sauce, which looked like there might be too much, was the right amount and not too spicy. It came out on top of a pile if chips so you could enjoy the it's that fell out after! Oh, and the most impressive part was the tortilla--lightly fried, but still soft enough to curve without cracking and strong enough to hold everything in without ripping. I told my boyfriend that this was the best taco I've had in the US. (I've had tacos in Mexico that do beat this one, but not by much!)

Hole Mole in Tustin is a charming spot with a welcoming vibe. The patio is perfect for a laid-back meal, offering a cozy outdoor space to enjoy your food. The staff are not only friendly but add a personal touch that makes the experience enjoyable. Free parking is a huge plus, making it easy to drop by without hassle. Prices are budget-friendly, making it a great choice for a quick and inexpensive meal. The menu offers decent flavors, with fresh and satisfying options, though nothing overly fancy. It’s a great spot for casual dining or grabbing tacos on the go. While the taste won’t blow you away, it’s reliable and comforting. Perfect for a quick bite with a cute atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!
