The ambiance at the restaurant is phenomenal! When we sat, we received chips and salsa right away, on the house. Our server took our appetizer order and brought us guacamole. It was one of the best I've ever had I didn't make myself! Our service was outstanding, to a point, because when I ordered my entree I asked for my food to come with "no spice-not spicy AT ALL." (And I know, what am I doing at a Mexican Restaurant when I don't like spicy, but it was not my choice as we were celebrating someone's birthday.) My entree came and my first bite was hotter🔥than I could stand! I was going to order milk, but couldn't wave down the server soon enough. By the time he got there, he explained, "It was just the sauce they cook the shrimp in." (Not a good enough explanation for me.) I had ordered the shrimp Chimichanga, sent it back and ordered something else. By the time everything else came, my party was done eating, so I packaged it up, hungry as I was and took it home😟. It don't blame the server, unless communication breakdown to the cook was inadequate causing a spicy chimi to appear. He did get a good tip, though, for his excellence. The owner was ever so nice to us and we did not get charged for the spicy food. I would return a second time. When I tried the food at home, the non-spicy chilie-rellenos, that was deep fried in a thin batter, was excellent! I had the green sauce served on the side. I also had the tamal and chalupa. They were both very good. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant even with my bumps in the road!😀

Just got back from a month in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, where I was sampling (obviously) Mexican food daily. Casa México nails it! Some of the food I had in Mexico was less authentically Mexican than the food served here (lots of Canadians live and operate restaurants there). The street tacos at Casa Mexico remind me of the best street vendor tacos I had there - albeit they were only 15 pesos (77 cents) there. Also, the margaritas were better in Puerto Vallarta (but then again, the city of Tequila is a short drive away). Previous review: This is arguably the best restaurant in Two Rivers and the best Mexican restaurant in the county. Food taste is delectable. Great seasonings. The taste of the street tacos brought back memories of the finest tacos I’ve had in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Margaritas are quite good, though not outstanding (I felt they were a little sweet - but I keep getting them). The food is of high quality. On rare occasions I’ve had some slightly wilted lettuce (which wouldn’t even be noticeable at a lesser restaurant). Highly recommend.

Currently on a taco tour. This stop is #40 in the tour Chips and salsa: Chips were thick and had no salt. The chips left an oily residue in your mouth. The salsa was watery but had a nice kick to it - 1 Lime Margartia on the Rocks: The margarita is great. It has a perfect sweet to sour ratio - 5 Steak Taco: Flavor: 2 Fullness: 4 Appearance: 5 There was no consistency with the tacos. My taco was awful. It had zero flavor and was extremely oily. The taco was so saturated that the tortillas shell that was nicely fried on the flat top was falling apart. I only had a few bites and could not finish it. I took a picture of how much oil was on my plate. The others in the group said their tacos were dry and the meat needed salt, but was lightly seasoned and could use more. Service: The server was very nice and our food was brought out correctly. After seeing the issue with my taco, they offered another taco which I declined. They then removed the taco from the bill- 4 Give us a follow on Instagram @gbdiningdykes

If you are gluten free, be very careful if you eat at this restaurant. My family has frequented this establishment over the last few years because the food is fresh and delicious -- with generous portions. The lady who manages the restaurant is a wonderful, welcoming person and the service is fast. However, even when I make them very aware of my inability to ingest wheat, mistakes continue to be made. Even when I explain that I can only have corn tortillas, a flour tortilla sometimes shows up on my plate. This week was the final straw. I ordered enchiladas, which are traditionally made with corn tortillas. My server and the manager were aware of my gluten problem. When my enchiladas were brought to the table, the shells looked wrong to me and I inquired whether these were corn tortillas. My server said yes, they are corn. There was a lot of Verde sauce and lettuce over them so it was hard to tell. I was hungry and ate my dinner, believing that the manager had double checked my order as she said she would be doing.

The next day I noticed that my knees and finger joints were unexpectedly stiff and a little painful, and I was experiencing bathroom issues, but couldn't figure out why...until that night, when I heated my leftovers and started to eat. After being in the microwave, it was completely evident that the shells were indeed flour instead of corn! The sauce had worn away and the tortillas looked very white, with a gummy, stretchy consistency that could ONLY be wheat flour tortillas. I am angry with myself because I had sensed something was off at the restaurant -- but instead of being adamant and following my gut instincts, I took the server's word that they were corn tortillas. But I am also very angry with Casa Mexico because their cooks do not seem to understand what it means to have a gluten allergy. Now my joints will hurt for several days as they recover from this exposure. My gut will take weeks to heal.

We will never go to this restaurant again, which makes me sad because we love to support our local businesses. But this is the third time they have hurt my body. Three strikes and...

The strawberry margaritas have no flavor. They wanted to charge us $.80 more per taco for flour tortillas instead of corn. The waiter lied in front of his manager when the price was questioned. They owner agreed with the waiter for over charging. We stood our ground and said no we are not paying that price, they came back with $.55 extra per taco. We again stated no. I stated I'm not paying that bill. The owner said he was going to call the police, I said call them. The hostess came to her senses and stated she was going to charge the price on the menu. As we were paying the owner is frantically looking through the menu to see where it states there is an up-charge for flour versus corn tortillas. On the back of the menu under a completely different item he finds where it states there will be a $.25 extra charge for flour tortillas versus corn. Then he apologized immensely and stated he needed to train his staff better. He was going to talk to the waiter for lying to him in front of customers. However, this apology was after I reminded them that we are in a small town and word of mouth travels fast and do they know how many other restaurants have already been in that same building within the last three years. Needless to say there are a lot of Mexican restaurant in the area and I will not recommend this one nor...
