My husband and I went in on a VERY slow night. Despite hardly any tables, it took our server( a petite blond girl, I think her name was Serena or Sabrina but not sure) about 7 minuets to greet us. She dropped of our drinks then walked away without giving us an option to go ahead and order and we were approaching Hangry. Took our order a few minuets a later. My wings came out about 20 minuets later ( not a bad time for traditional wings) but my husbands boneless" would be out shortly" we were told. I ate as slow as possible so I could try to enjoy the meal with my husband who was still waiting for his boneless wings a full 20 minuets later(40 minuets total at this point). He also had to get up and refill his own drink as our server simply vanished from site this entire time. I flagged down another server and requested a manger, who about 5 minuets later arrived with my husbands food, and it was the wrong food ( a full plate of traditional wings). We were then told his previous order had been dropped so we had been waiting on a re-make ( that explanation would have been nice to have) and then to find out our server wrote our order in wrong so he waited 45 minuets for a 15 ct of boneless wings ( Once the correction was made it took only 5 minuets for his food to be delivered by some other server). AFTER his food was finally delivered, along with our fires that also took 45 minuets, NOW the server is paying attention to tell us she is so sorry, its the kitchen's fault, lots of new people working back there, and walks away, without refilling my now nearly empty drink. I request the check during one of her walk bys and she directs me to the QR code on the table. I asked her for a paper check to which she tells me sure, her manager just wants her to push people to use the QR code. Call me old fashioned, but if I'm being WAITED ON, I'm not going to pay out my own check. We have refilled out own drinks and had to push for our food to be brought out correctly, I'm not going to pay myself out, why even have a waitress at this point. Our server showed us the most attention the entire night when she frequently checked to see if i had my card ready for payment, and ultimately returned the check and ran away before i could ask her for a pen to sign it. It is extremely disappointing that this places service is so bad because the food is good and we would come on a regular basis but when you have to ask yourself " Hey we want wings but do you feel like dealing with bad service?" Wing Stop is usually going to win...
Read moreI love Buffalo Wild Wings but the one in Tyler is run very poorly. Generally speaking, sit-down service is slow. But the carry-out service is even worse. Several times over the past 3-4 months, my wife and I have ordered carry-out. Something has been missing EVERY TIME: either french fries, celery/carrots or blue cheese/ranch. But we finally had the last straw this week.
On March 14, 2016, I called and ordered a salad for my wife, wings for myself, and French fries. My wife was picking it up on her way home from work, but I didn't tell her that I had ordered fries. My wife checked to make sure that we had the wings, the blue cheese, the salad, etc., but she didn't know that I had ordered fries. So guess what I discovered once she got home: no fries. Because we live 15 miles outside of Tyler, we didn't want to go back, but I didn't want to let it slide because we had paid for the fries that we didn't get. So we called them and spoke to a manager, Shawn. He gave us this big speech about how they were trying to improve customer service, particularly the carry-out service, and he promised to leave us a $10 gift certificate that we could ask for the next time we came in or ordered out. Because of our prior experience at this restaurant, I didn't want to wait too long to take him up on that. So tonight (March 16, 2016) my wife and I were going to go in for dinner. Considering that we live so far outside of town, and that we had had so many problems with this place before, I decided to call first and make sure there would be no issues with getting our $10 gift certificate. And surprise, surprise: no gift certificate had been left, and Shawn wasn't working tonight. The person who answered the phone claimed that they called Shawn and that he had forgot to leave it for us, but they wouldn't allow us to go ahead and use it, even though Shawn apparently acknowledged to them that they did owe us $10. At this point, it's not even worth it. We just won't go back again. I love Buffalo Wild Wings, but the Tyler restaurant has terrible service. We...
Read moreI love going to BWW's on a fight night, and I've been a semi-regular customer for around 10 years.
BUT... the experience and service I had recently at the Tyler location was lacking, to say the least, from start to finish. We showed up around 8pm and waited for seating for about 10 minutes. We were escorted to a table all the way at the end, and we quickly informed the staff that we would like to move to a booth if and when one became available. The waitress told us it would be difficult due to changing areas, servers, etc (obviously didn't want to give away her tip). People have changed seats before, it's not rocket science. We saw several booths open up, even in our area, and never once was there any effort to meet our request. Strike one.
I asked for a beer off the special menu; sold out. My wife asked for a different beer; sold out. I asked what beers they actually had available that were on special. The waitress said she didn't know, but she was pretty sure they had Miller. I asked her to find out and get back to me. "Oh it's tough because we're all the way out here in Tyler". What? It's okay not to know off the top of your head, but what kind of wait staff won't even check and see when a customer asks? Mind blowing... Strike two.
A side note, we were told that all the TV's would switch over to the UFC fight when the main event happened, but they didn't.
As we ate our wings and enjoyed our sports the waitress' visits to our table became less frequent, and the visits to tables that her friends were at become more frequent. When our water glasses had been empty for a while we flagged her down (she was actually sitting down chatting with some friends of hers at a different table). The water never came. For the remaining hour or so, my wife and I just got up from the table and filled the water glasses ourselves.
It's one thing to have a relaxed atmosphere, but we are not paying restaurant prices for fast food service. I would expect a much higher level of professionalism from the staff if I am going to return to...
