Newk's Eatery — Restaurant in Tyler

HORRIBLE! Our experience here was absolutely horrible. After placing a delivery order, our food was delivered over an hour later - we only received 2 of the 7 entrees that were part of our order. After calling the store and demanding they remake my order, I drove 20 minutes to the store just for them to give me the remainder of the original order - I do NOT believe that they remade anything, and they did not remake the 2 items that had been delivered. I guess they expected us to eat food that would have been sitting around for more than 2 hours by the time we would get home with the rest of the food and eat. They were not willing to refund any money since it was a delivery order and facilitated through Door Dash, even though I ordered directly from Newk's app and it did not indicate anywhere that Door Dash was responsible for the delivery. We were waiting in the restaurant for more than 20 minutes between talking to Taylor, waiting 10 minutes + for her to get us the phone number for the Ops Manager, then waiting for them to remake the two salads. We drove 20 minutes back home just to realize they made one of the sandwiches incorrectly - it was not supposed to have cheese due to the person having an intolerance and there was cheese all over it, so that person was unable to eat. I called the store again and they would not remake another sandwich and have it delivered - I would have had to drive 20 minutes each way to pick it up and may not have made it there in time before they closed. I called the Ops Manager and he did nothing either. I have never had an issue at a Newk's before and I am not from Tyler, so this was the first and only time I have eaten here, but this was a horrible experience and I will never eat at another Newk's again. I took the survey and am awaiting a call from either the Ops Manager or District Manager to discuss this issue. DoorDash submitted a request to Newk's about getting our order refunded, and I am still waiting on that to come through. My family was together for a baby shower and was expecting the convenience of our dinner being delivered would allow us more time at our airbnb together rather than having to leave to go get dinner - that backfired and caused a major issue since it took almost 3 hours for us to eat, and for someone to have to order food from somewhere else to be delivered since her sandwich was inedible. The restaurant team did not seem interested in being helpful, instead they deferred blame to the DoorDash driver who told us that she questioned the order she was picking up because it appeared to be incomplete and they told her that it was correct. There needs to be accountability and at this point, I expect a phone call from somebody to make this right. Simply refunding the order and moving on...

Normally we love newks. But tonight was the worst restaurant experience we have ever had with ANY restaurant. we came in 40 minutes before closing time but there were people Inside eating. We received no greeting when we came in, the girl that took our order was SO rude, we ordered a full order Newks Q and only got half.. and neither of our Newks Q sandwiches had sauce on it. We stood at the side counter needing ranch and it took a while for any one to even acknowledge us. There was no ice in the machine. There was a worker standing in front of the machine on her phone and did not try to help or offer to get me ice, she did not even acknowledge that I was there, just walked off. She then dumped all the teas out which we were drinking and had the nozzles off of the machine so we couldn’t get anything to drink to go. As we were leaving, no one said anything to us. Had the steak and cheese with caramelised onions on wheat and the horseradish mayo that comes on it. wife had the spicy Italian, and we ordered a large five cheese mac&cheese with a ceasar salad. Staff was friendly and patient, food came fairly quick...everything was fine until I bit into the sandwich..all you tasted was SUGAR...turns out the onions are caramelised with sugar, candied onions on a sandwich with the, "supposedly filet meat" on it is not good. Overpowers the sandwich... wife said her sandwich was spicy but sweet as well. The m&c was very small for the price and processed ...the sauce was powdery and had nothing that would suggest a hint of different cheeses, nor did it stand on it's own appearance wise. So, this place should be loved by all here in east Texas as it is substandard and sweet...you know , the Tyler requirement that food be sweet. If you want a good sandwich that's not expensive...stay at home and...
