We had a mixed experience at Ruby’s. The aguas frescas were definitely the best part—refreshing and full of flavor. They had a nice variety too, including mango, strawberry lemonade, and cucumber. The chips and salsa, though, were disappointing. The chips were cold and lacked any real crunch or seasoning, and the green salsa was far too salty to enjoy. I did enjoy the corn in a cup—it was tasty, well-prepared, and fairly priced. I ordered the tacos de bistec. They looked good, but the execution was off. The onions were sliced too large for tacos, the cilantro was mostly stems, and there was repollo (cabbage), which felt a bit out of place. The meat itself was dry and had a sticky texture. I'd rate the tacos about a 6 out of 10. Service was fast—our food came out in around five minutes for a table of five, which was impressive. Overall, Ruby’s has potential, especially with their drinks and elote, but the rest of the meal left a lot of room for improvement.

SALSA, is the word I’ll think of every-time I think of Ruby’s those salsas were flavorful, well balanced, and just spicy enough to make my nose rub (that’s a good thing). Ordered the sopes which come with 4 and a side of charro beans. The chicken sopes were moist and had great flavor, the steak were good not great being honest. The sopes themselves were sturdy but not dense or difficult to eat, perfect and held up to the generous portion of ingredients atop. Beans, meat of your choice, cabbage, crema, cojita, tomato, and avocado towered upon each mountain of deliciousness! Topped these peaks of delight with both the green and orange sauces for spice while washing it down with a Mexican coke or the array of aquas frescas. Chips and salsa were free but would have paid for them as the chips were fresh and salsa was bangin’! HIGHLY recommend. Seating was ample, staff polite and friendly, tables turned quickly; great experience all around!

Me and my wife decided to have an early dinner, as we were in Tyler for an appointment. While driving tocards south Broadway we saw Ruby's Mexican restaurant and thought we would give them a try. Upon entering we were surprised to see the establishment was large than we expected. This restaurant had a menu board to order from. We had never been here and had questions about the menu. The young lady who took are order was very helpful. We placed our order and received our drink cups. After choosing a table we didn't have to wait long before our meals arrived We both ordered the Birria taco plate. The food was outstanding. The restaurant and bathrooms were very clean and neat. I would highly recommend this business. If you are in the area, give them a try.

We came to Ruby's with our family of four on a Thursday night, and I thought it was great food, service, and atmosphere. It's kid friendly, if you want to bring them. Food comes fast, tastes delicious, and is reasonably priced. We spent under $50 for all four of us, which is so easy to do nowadays at the fastest and cheapest of fast food joints. So, for a sit down place with lots of flavors, this is a deal. Definitely try it out!

My husband got nachos, which were alright. They weren't as loaded, as I would like personally. Plus, I suggest being more creative in what you order. They are so many other great tasting options, like the poblano burrito. The sauce on top of it was so tangy and satisfying. The guacamole that came with it was an extra added bonus too.

I was hoping the kids would love the authentic food. I ordered the enchiladas and potato tacos for them, which came with a drum stick. I tasted all of it, and both my husband and I agree, you can't go wrong with either option. The potato tacos had no meat though, so if you are seeking a vegetarian option, that's a safe bet. Add a red or green salsa to it and thank me later.

Unfortunately my kids were panting for water after trying the complimentary salsa verde and chips when we first arrived. In my opinion, it was absolutely citrusy and picante (yum!), but my kids thought it and everything else was spicy. From that point on, they refused to eat their food and missed out on some of the best food around Tyler. I guess that's why the kids meals options are corn dogs, mini pizza, or a quesadilla. Next time, we just won't bring the kids.

When you go, don't forget your aqua frescas. All the flavors are sweet...

I've been going to Ruby's for about two years now. When I first started, they only had the main front room, and their most popular dish, the number one (los doblados), was $10.99 before tax. The tacos were amazing back then—perfectly greasy, warm, with juicy meat. They used to serve three full slices of avocado, plenty of onions and cabbage, two limes, and, of course, their signature birria. The tortillas were soaked in birria, giving them a rich orange or red color, and everything came out piping hot. The red sauce had a great balance of flavor and spice, while the green sauce was consistently excellent.

However, during my most recent visit, I noticed they had expanded their seating area, which was nice, but it seemed to come at the cost of quality. The tacos weren’t nearly as good and cost a dollar extra. The birria was watery, and the tortillas barely had any birria on them—they looked almost white instead of that deep, rich color. The red sauce tasted bland, like plain tomatoes with minimal spice, though the green sauce was still good. They only gave one avocado slice, fewer onions and cabbage, and just one lime, so I couldn’t even garnish all my tacos properly. Worse, the tacos weren’t hot like they used to be.

It is true that i caught them right after the post-church rush on Sunday afternoon, so maybe it will be better if it happened outside that window of time.

If this recent visit is an indication of how things are now, I wouldn’t recommend Ruby’s anymore. The quality has appeared to drop so much that it’s become an average experience, not worthy of going out...

You place your order at the counter and then find you table after getting your number. We didnt understand everything on the menu, but was helped and everything was explained well. The food is brought out very quickly after being freshly made. At first glance (being from America and use to the oversized portions of food and we all wonder why we are so fat because our mommas always told us to eat everything on our plates), you would think you wouldn't get full. But you do, and quickly. Just the right portions so you dont have to walk out with your pants unbuckled. My husband and I came at a time that I would say isn't typically busy so there wasn't many people there. But I can imagine during the busy hours this place is poppin. There is a nice sitting area outside but we decided to eat inside. The music played is reggaeton. I appreciate all types of music, love diversity and new things. So I enjoyed it playing. I have nothing negative to say about this place. Hope you give it a try and enjoy as...
