Like a lush grocery oasis in the desert of lousy supermarkets, Sprouts farmers market in Tyler, Texas is the only central location for procuring high-quality perishable and non-perishable groceries. With Brookeshire's domineering headquarters and distribution center in the heart of Tyler, there is little room for grocery store options in Smith County. Because of this, or perhaps because it's just not a very good company, there's little motivation for Brookeshire's to be anything more than a cut-rate supermarket. The Brookeshire's owned Super One foods is even worse; it feels like a Soviet-era supermarket. On the outskirts of town, there is an Aldi, which is just a different variation of the socialist-style supermarket.
Sprouts feels the most like a gourmet market where you can get high-quality, unique foods that meets the standards of middle-class America. Brookeshire's Fresh has similar offerings, but it's not very centrally located.
What I also appreciate about Sprouts is that they have competitive pricing on their foods, and often offer valuable discounts. This particular location in Tyler is staffed with competent, courteous team members. You can tell that they like working at Sprouts, and their attitude and work ethic clearly trickles down from the top, as all of the front end managers seem Competent and motivated.
There are definitely some areas for improvement, most notably the bakery selection, which is good but not great. The strongest offerings in the store I think are the non-perishable items, as well as an often overlooked supplements and natural health items section. Highly recommended if you want to get away from the doldrums of...
Read moreI always like shopping at sprouts. Just do not try talking to all the employees about stuff because they sometimes are not nice or interested.
I changed my stars from 4 to 2. The reason why is first the general managers are not nice. What I mean is they will help find stuff but if you are looking to see if they will donate produce to your local farm they will say no and that's what they did to me. I don't know why probably something dumb but whatever. I guess this sprouts does not care about local farmers even though they say on the website they do. Here is a tip DO NOT ask for help that's walking around with a dark blue shirt because that is what they wear. The light blue shirts are sort of ok. I re-edited this post on April 6th 2022.
Another update. May 16 2022. This one is important people and it's another reason why I do not like the management here. They still will not give me their expired produce to feed my farm animals. I asked nicely and they said no but what really got me upset is that they give there EXPIRED produce to a food bank. Understand I am not opposed to giving food to the poor who needed but to give expired food to people is just plain wrong. By giving food that is expired it does not help sprouts image of helping the community. I just want to let everyone know that sprouts gives expired produce to a food bank to help the poor and not to local farmers who could feed their produce to the animals like mine. It is their decision, so I cannot fight it but I can...
   Read moreConcerning Employee Interaction
During my recent visit to Sprouts, I witnessed an unfortunate encounter with one of the employees. While I understand that people can have off days, I feel it's important to share my experience for the sake of improvement.
I witnessed an older gentleman, presumably an employee, interacting with one of the cashiers (I did not catch their name) in a manner that was quite concerning. He spoke to her in an aggressive tone and raised his voice.
I understand that employees may need to enforce rules, but I believe that respectful and professional customer service is crucial for any business. This particular interaction did not align with my expectations, and it's essential for all employees to treat their fellow coworkers just as they would to a customers with kindness and patience, regardless of the circumstances.
I hope this review serves as constructive feedback for Sprouts management. Addressing such incidents and ensuring a positive customer experience should be a priority. I will continue to shop at Sprouts but hope that this isolated incident can be used as an opportunity for improvement.
Thank you for your attention to...
