Baldie's Cafe — Restaurant in Union City

I order from here every other week and never usually have a problem. After picking up my order I got to my car and checked my order before driving away. My order was wrong. I went back inside to correct it and one of the servers told me “For one, you’re not holding it right, the food is going to fall.” The way she worded this and her tone was rude. I went to pick up this order with my toddler, left thinking that everything would be right, then had to come back inside for THEIR mistake, and instead of immediately apologizing she had to make a comment about the way I was holding my to go container? When I told her her comment was unnecessary she didn’t apologize and neither did the owner when I explained it to him. In fact, he laughed and said he didn’t know what to say. I expected a sincere apology but unfortunately didn’t get that. I don’t know what customer service is coming to these days, but I’m disappointed that I didn’t receive good service this time. Customers are who are giving these servers and workers a pay check. Therefore we should be treated kindly and respectfully. Certain things do not need to be said, or this server could at least have worded things differently, acknowledging their mistake or messing up my order instead of making a comment about the way I was holding my...

Maybe it's just me... But personally I felt like Baldie's cafe was just pretty average. Nothing we ordered was especially exceptional. The food was good, but not crave-inducing good. I'm not giving a 3-star review because I didn't like it, but because I found it to be average/a-okay sort of experience.

My boyfriend ordered an ordinary breakfast with scrambled eggs, toast, and sausages and I ordered egg benedict with hash browns and fruit. His plate literally is something I could make at home myself because there wasn't anything special to it.

The eggs benedict was good/edible but for some reason it had a strange lemony smell to it which unfortunately reminded me of a really clean bathroom (sorry!) Overall it still tasted good enough to eat but I just don't really like being reminded of bathrooms with every bite.. So probably won't be ordering this again.

Perhaps it was just our poor choices, but if we do come back and try other items on the menu I hope it'll show me why so many people are so fond of this place!

Service was okay, we got our orders in pretty quickly and our cups were refilled once. They weren't friendly but were respectful and that's good enough for me. Will come back in the future but probably not...

I do not recommend this restaurant. I only went there two times with a really good friend of mine and the first time that I went I had really bad food poisoning. I was very sick for about a week. I had to go to my primary care and be seen due to getting the food poisoning and then the next time I went there to the restaurant with my friend I ordered something else because I originally got sick with the burger, and I tried to tell the waitress about what happened and to please make sure that they look at the quality of their food to prevent that for anyone else she told me that the next time I come in, I could have a burger and fries on the house and to call her so I called her then all of a sudden she said I had to talk with her manager so I did try to call the management there. I left a message and it’s been over a month and I never received a call back so I guess that means that This restaurant does not care about customers getting food poisoning. The last time I went there is my last visit at all? I would never return somewhere that does not care about the customers and lies and says I’ll do something and then don’t and the manager never called me back so they obviously don’t care .
