I thought we would try this place out for lunch for my birthday. First, it is not clear where to enter to be seated. There were no signs to let you know if you need to wait to be seated or seat yourself.
After wondering around for a couple of minutes looking for an employee to find out where to be seated, I finally saw one and asked if we needed to wait to be seated or sit anywhere. He looked around confused and said, "yeah, sure."
We wanted to sit outside so we could look out over the lake, but there were only a few empty tables in the shade and none of them had been cleaned from the previous customers. There were tables close to the lake right in the sun, but they didn't have umbrellas or anything to block the sun.
We finally found a clean table in the bar area where we were quickly greeted by the bartender. She got us drinks and took our order. That was the last we saw of her until I walked up to the bar at the end of our meal to pay.
When we got our food, my wife's food was wrong. She ordered the blackened Mahi sandwich and was brought the chicken sandwich instead. I attempted to get the bartender's attention, but she was too busy. I finally flagged down another waitress who informed us that the sandwich was entered wrong and she would get the correct sandwich right out to us. It arrived in about 10 minutes.
The food was mediocre and expensive. The Mahi sandwich and two tacos came to almost $50. After waiting at the bar for a few minutes until the bartender who took out ordered was able to spare time to see what I wanted, I asked her for our bill. She asked if anyone came to get the chicken sandwich, because she was going to leave it on the bill if it was still at our table. That rubbed me the wrong way. She made the mistake. It shouldn't matter if the sandwich was still on the table. Were you going to re-sell it? I hope not.
It was a very disappointing visit and needless to say, I only left a 12% tip and we will not...
Read moreMyself and six friends went to the Boat Yard on a beautiful Saturday. The place is always packed and we were aware we may have to wait a while to be served. No problems with that, we’re patient young adults with plenty of time. I asked a man wearing a grey shirt, very kind man, who our server was bc nobody had gotten us any drinks yet and it had been a little while. I’ll come back to this. A girl who WAS NOT our server took all of our orders. Food was SO FAST. They had almost all the food at the table before the final order was even put in. I’d skip the carnitas tacos personally but would spend the extra money on the crab cakes. Bartender did really well. But after we got our food it was crickets. I understand they’re busy but let’s throw it back. The lovely man in the grey shirt shared with me I actually knew who our assigned server was. To explain better so people don’t believe it is a woman who has a right to pawn other servers onto her table…this is just a girl I went to high school with and had not seen me in almost 10 years. Absolutely 0 excuses for not serving us. So my friends and I did not get the adequate service we deserved bc Jalynn decided because 10 years ago she did not like me she would not serve me now. I want to thank the lovely man in the grey shirt who’s name I did not get and Mikayla for helping us when she wasn’t helping her own sections. I am giving Boat Yard 5/5 bc I don’t think the silliness of one employee should reflect the entire place. I do recommend, just has one...
Read moreWe stopped in with the family and should have known when my husband had to go inside and track down a server after no one came out to greet us. Once she finally came to our table at least 10-15 mins later and took our order she asked to run an open tab on our card becase I guess people have skipped out on paying. We let her.
She never came back someone brought our order and when we were done my husband again had to go in and ask someone for the check.
A new server came out and said she was covering for our other server.
I did let this server know that my husband's shrimp rangoon was not good. She said oh well I've never eaten it... Not let me see what I can do or speak with a manager.
I asked for a paper check she said: did you hit print? then she never came back. After almost 10 mins I went and found her she ignored me and I proceeded to ask if she had a chance to grab that check. She proceeded to run her mouth about serving 20 tables as she was grabing it.
Needless to say my husband's meal was not good we never were asked to have it taken off the bill. The service was terrible and we tipped and honestly probably shouldn't have.
I would not recommend wasting your time and hard...
