I will preface this review with stating I am a local who never eats in the restaurant, orders on the website, and does not add any additional instructions to my orders. So, I cannot comment on dine-in related topics or ordering by phone.

First the good - One of my favorite pizzas of all time and it is mostly the same since I was a young kid. It has a unique flavor that I have never really gotten anywhere else. They always have a lot of cheese on it as well. I order on their website and I have never had an issue with that or with my order not being done in the time it states which is very nice. The staff is very friendly and some of them have been there a very long time.

Now the things that have led me to put up a review -

The main issue with this place is the price is getting way out of hand. Large pizzas are over $20 and each topping is $2.29 extra! I could possibly see that if their "large" was some giant 18" pizza or something, but it is a 14". A "small" chef salad is $7. I know we live in crazy inflationary times but these prices are really not in line with other places in the same region.

Other smaller issues for me over the past few years is inconsistency in the pizza. I just order a pepperoni pizza with no additional instructions and sometimes it is overly-done to the point the crust is black. Sometimes it has enough sauce on it for two pizzas (and the sauce is my favorite part, I like a saucy pizza so that is saying something). The pizza is also the greasiest pizza of any place I get them from.

Besides the price and consistency though, the next biggest issue is the drive-thru. I have waited for over 15 minutes with just one or two cars ahead of me at the window. It is like that almost every time. If the person's order at the window isn't ready, then tell them to drive around and get back in line! It's not a hard concept. It has gotten so bad that I don't even try to go through the drive-thru, I just go inside and get it at the counter. I think the main problem is they seem WAY understaffed in the kitchen and counters. The phone will just ring and ring and ring while I am in there with nobody to answer it most of the time. I place my orders on their website so don't ever have a problem with that part.

This used to be my go-to pizza place since it is close and I like the flavor but between the price and the other issues, this is getting to be a once every 6 months place for me. There are a number of pizza places within 12 miles of me that have large pizzas for $10 or even less, some of which are much...

We came in from out of town, visiting our father in law. After driving around the area, we decided to stop in. When we arrived, about six tables were occupied (not too busy). We were shown a table quickly, and after a minute or two, our server came to the table to take our drink order. After our drinks were brought, she asked if we were having any appetizers. After some debate we settled on the garlic bread with cheese and a serving of loaded fries. These items came out quickly, and we were happy with the strength of the garlic and the generosity of the mozzarella cheese. The fries were seasoned, crispy, and dressed with a slightly spicy cheese sauce and crumbled bacon. While waiting for the appetizers, we decided to try the Philly Chicken Pizza. Our server, Jules, made a point to try it with a side of the Thai chili sauce. The pizza came to our table, with a crispy thin crust topped with Alfredo sauce, chicken, green peppers, onions and mushrooms. My wife loved the pizza, following Jules' suggestion, dipping it in the sauce. Jules was attentive, and when we finished, she kept the suggestions coming by up-selling dessert. We thought about it, but ultimately decided on getting the check. Jules was very personable, and chatted with us a bit when she presented the check. She certainly enhanced the experience for me and my family. Thanks,...

Placed a $30 order through door dash and didn’t receive our salad. I also ordered my pizza well done and I got it light baked. I called Pizza Cottage and asked if the salad was included in the order that was picked up. The person answering the phone cut me off and I heard him arguing with someone and then the manager got on the phone. She was rude from the get go and said because she didn’t have a salad in her cooler they must have sent it. Door Dash credited my account so this isn’t about the money. My daughter was missing half her dinner. I’ve been going to this Pizza Cottage since I was a kid. They have always had the most friendly and courteous employees. My sister worked there for almost twenty years. The previous owner was a family friend. I can honestly say this is the first time in forty years I’ve ever received such terrible customer service from the Buckeye Lake Pizza Cottage. Whoever the night manager is, change your...

Man I do love the pizza but the prices are such a joke anymore and more often my orders are horribly off. $3.69 for a “heaping” order of fries which I’d love to know how that is a heaping order. 9$ for About four and a half chicken tenders is also crazy. Also please fix your website for online ordering, it’s missing a ton of stuff that’s actually on your menu but not available when ordering online. Update 2/11/23: Ordered their pizza again because it had been awhile and thought we would give it another shot. Poor choice. The crust was different. It was paper thin! Why change it?? I noticed another person mentions this below too in another review. It was terrible. We won’t be wasting any money here anymore. There are tons of other solid pizza spots within 10-15 miles that we will support more often.

been coming here for the past 15, 20yrs and it was always the best pizza around. Every visit was consistently great. Then they sold and were bought by the owner of BDubs and it has since gone downhill. A waitress at one of the locations told me new owner is a penny pincher that makes that measures out all ingredients and put less on the pizzas, less sauce, cheese, and toppings. He took what made this place great and is ruining it. I have come here every year for my birthday for the last 15-20 yrs and sadly this will be the first year that i choose not to come here. I have had more bad experiences in the past year than the 20yrs before it, at all locations. It is the new owners fault plain and simple, like i said a long time waitress told my wife and i. Im pretty sad hes doing this.

Update: Went in for lunch, ordered drinks first. They were cold and very favorable. This visit we ordered the BBQ chicken pizza. It was amazing. That was a trip to flavortown. I would have to say the service and attention from our server was top notch. This is the Buckeye Lake location. The overall experience was above average but not excellent. When you first walk in you notice a faint odor, almost musty smell. At first it seemed we were a distraction to the waitress, but she did eventually warm up. We ordered cheese breaksticks, which were slightly burned but just couldn't seem to stop eating them. The Italian sub was amazing. The cauliflower crust white pizza with onion had an amazing flavor, however the crust was slightly overcooked. I would recommend.
