I was actually surprised by my experience as I had heard a good thing or two about this place which is what caused me to try it. The staff is extremely rude for starters. If my girlfriend hadn't decided to use their restroom when we came in I would have just walked out. When we got in the door we were the only people waiting for a table so didn't expect a big wait nor did I care if there was one. The older gentleman at the counter frankly told me it would be 30 minutes for a table and in manner that almost sounded as if he would rather I just leave. I asked if I could put my name in so I might be able to sit in my car out front for a few. It was extremely hot inside. I was told rudely by a dirty looking bus boy "you're just gonna have to stand and wait bud!" A simple we don't have a system to take names would be fine. Once seated i witnessed the young hostess being wildly rude to several others coming in about a table. Our waitress was the only semi positive experience. She wasn't spectacular but at least she wasn't rude like the other 3 workers on the floor. In fact I heard her chastise the young hostess for being a bit rude. The food I was hoping was the bright, it was not. The home fries weren't cooked well and were thick cut. It was like a plate full of raw potato chunks. The gravy had no flavor and was separating into a water like substance. The eggs that were supposed to be on it were hard to find. No exaggeration it was actually hard to find any. It was like a big bland sloppy plate of raw potatoe chunks. I will never go here again. The place wasn't even that busy for those kind of attitudes. Ill stick with big apple Cafe or early birds for breakfast and...
Read moreWe arrived at 1:20. The restaurant was scheduled to close at 2:00 as it was Sunday. The parking lot was full, but both doors were locked and dead bolted (you can see the bolt thrown). No signs, just locked. 1) this is a fire code violation, there is no grandfathering for deadbolting doors with people inside. 2) If they choose to not serve new customers, have the courtesy to at least post a sign or put it on your website. If you are closed for a private party, put a sign on the door. We have been there a couple times, food is decent, service has generally been good, but if there is a fire, better pray the first person to the door doesn't get crushed against the door and they know to...
Read moreThis is a tried and true 'greasy spoon' type diner in an older building. If you are looking for fancy new-age architecture/interior aesthetic & the newest hipster food trends, you'll want to look elsewhere, but if you want well-made classic breakfast/brunch plates with generous serving sizes (especially for the price...our two larger plates were $8 a piece), give this place a visit.
We cleared two huge breakfast plates, a side of biscuits and gravy, a coffee and a soft drink for $25. Staff was very friendly and enthusiastic!
Note: There was a sign out front about longer waits due to having trouble hiring enough staff, but we got our food extremely fast even with the room...
